Found this article this morning. Poses a fundamental question to our faith, and it shows how there is great apostasy and false teachings in churches today. www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=1691We are all students of His word and we need to stay in our bibles and be open to the spirit to avoid such false doctrines. 2 Timothy 2:15 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Wow I heard about this statement by the lesbian Bishop. I understand the struggles of our flesh, obviously hers is attraction to the same sex. But to attempt to twist scripture to fit her viewpoint is very dangerous ground.

But to attempt to twist scripture to fit her viewpoint is very dangerous ground. Agreed. I believe this is where most of the apostasy comes from. It's basically when you take idols in your life and use 85-90% truth in scripture to justify what you want. Satan did the same with Jesus in the wilderness. Amazingly, just as Jesus did, these claims by false teachers can easily be thwarted by knowing the what the word of God says itself as we see in this article.

I liked this quote:
In college I was dating a guy, pretty seriously, and found out that his church did not believe that Jesus is God. Instead of taking their word for it or taking my church's word for it that He is, I dove into Scripture myself to see what it says. That is the only source we have for truth. Many did not understand when we ended our relationship, but sound doctrine is extremely important. But it set the foundation for my worship of Him.

Exactly, Scripture is often times vastly different than what we may have been taught or indoctrinated into.
Hubby was raised Catholic, I was raise Jehovah Witness and we believed as different as day is from night. It was when we actually started reading the KJV bible we saw what we were both taught in childhood was vastly different than what the bible actually says.

This story reminds me of hearing a year or so ago about an episcopal minister who admitted that she was an atheist but wanted to continue being a minister. I don't know if she was allowed to or not, but that really blew my mind.
I'm also shocked at the survey they talked about, where 7 in 10 evangelical/conservatives believe that Jesus was God's first created being. What part of "Jesus is God" don't they get?

IMO - because it takes faith to believe that He is God, that they are 3 in 1. I will never wrap my head around that and I dont think anyone else can either. So we relate the "Son" as being inferior to the "Father" not One. thats my take

Our body houses our soul and spirit. Our soul is eternal. Our spirit makes us who we are, your spirit makes you, you. My spirit makes me, me.
Another way to look at is, I am a daughter, a wife and a mother however I am just one person.

Another way God shows this relationship is in our marriages. My Wife, My Self, and God are separate persons, but we are also one. It's something that has blessed my marriage greatly having this understanding.

Absolutely, I will attest to God being the head of the marriage, He took ours and turned us around. We would have been in divorce court if it were not for God taking control.

Agreed the great apostacy according to Revelation is materialism as the Whore gives gifts to its lovers. It springs forth in cargo cults around the world, Mormonism, Protestanism, Joel Esteemism.... as they promise riches and material wealth and blessings for joining and tithing, etc etc.... its a trick but it works as peoples main religion is survial, money, power, wealth, prestige.. They dont want to forsake all their worldly goods and follow the Lord to the ends of the world and become missionaries til death. They want the good life, whereas the true apostles and disciples have given up on this life and only want to serve their KING This is Jesus www.davidjayjordan.com/Jesus.htmlThese are His WORDS and His Truths www.davidjayjordan.com/Jesussownwords.htmlChurch people like to theorize and feel spiritual rather than going out and winning souls and forsaking all, to put JESUS first. Real disciples do what Jesus said to do.... GO ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, Jews, Gentiles, Muslims, natives, blacks, yellows, browns, and maybe most importantly to the whites, for they are lost the most. GAO According to scriptures, You want scriptures that direct applicable scriptures David
