I was listening to this story about a town in Kentucky that was preparing for the eclipse.

One bit that caught my attention was this line "According to local legend, on August 21, 1955, a family reported seeing a UFO land on their farm and aliens emerging from it. Every year, the region holds a Little Green Men Festival."

Does anyone think there is any significance in this, given the date of the "alien" sighting?

It almost certainly has some kind of significance. The path of totality is narrow. For it to go over that town on that date of the year (1:365 chance of the date) is in my opinion, statistically relevant. Then again, what other towns have historical events significant to August 21? Could be several across the country. . . .

Just found this video which points out something I didn't realize--the eclipse also goes over the Georgia Guidestones. Among other things.

I'm still watching this video, so I don't know whether it's all good or not.
