I'm new to this. I guess this is how your start? Has anyone noticed that this Referendum is being held during Passover? Selective voting maybe? I feel like I'm seeing a Daniel 7 little horn.

HI truthseeker!! Welcome to the party. I looked this up to see what you were talking about and you are right. This vote will be on 4/16 and Passover begins on 4/10 and ends on 4/18. But my question is what is the meaning behind this referendum? Is it a big deal?

I'm not Turkish, so I really don't know. I only know that the leader has been quite loud lately on many fronts, and has had great political influence in Europe. To hear some, it would seem that a freely secular country is morphing more into an dictatorship under the auspice of "reclaiming the Old Ottoman Empire". If elected, I believe the other countries with similar interests will look to him as a type of a leader for them (?).

By similar interest, I mean Islamic rule.

The mere fact that Russia and Turkey are now "getting along" is noteworthy. Russia and Turkey have always been enemies, or cold enemies. With their warming relation, Russia can now let its Black Sea Fleet out safely to the Mediterranean and beyond. With Russia, Turkey, and Iran now good buddies, it is not far off for the remaining nations of Ezekiel 38 to come together-- keep our eyes on Ethiopia-- they are vying for most influential and powerful nation in Africa. Welcome to the forum, Truthseeker!

Hi Truthseeker! Welcome to the board. I'm glad to have you here. I've written on this referendum a little bit before ( you can read about it here). To boil it down, if the referendum passes in April, Erdogan will be able to rule Turkey by decree and even dissolve parliament. His term with these powers would stretch from Fall 2017 to 2019, and then he could be reelected to a second term (almost a certainity), in which he could rule for 5 more years - to Fall 2024. 2017 - 2024 is a possible trib timeline we've been watching. Turkey was the heart of the both the Islamic Ottoman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire. He could possibly be the antichrist or Gog, or perhaps the antichrist's forerunner. Time will tell and hopefully we'll be out of here before we find out.

I agree-- if all this stuff happens this year as we generally think, Gary, Erdogan will almost certainly be a major player. Surely his power grab is not for naught.
It is generally understood by many people that Ezekiel's Togarmah is modern Turkey (although there is wiggle-room for debate, do be sure). In that case, it is one of the "four cardinal direction moslem enemies" of Gog's invasion. These are (evidently) led and/or supplied by Russia (Ros, Meshech, and Tubal).
The other three FCDME are Persia (Iran), Ethiopia / Cush (Sudan and/or modern Ethiopia, I think more likely the latter), and Phut / Put (Perhaps Lybia, but maybe other Sahara nation (s).)

Thanks for the welcome! There are so many relevant threads - there's not enough time in a day!
I have watched Erdogan for several years. He definitely (currently) fits as the little horn of Daniel 7, Who I see (the four beasts) as the Middle East Quartet. He seems to worship the 'god of forces' - military, more than religion. I believe that his being secular - if he can get Gulen - then he can get Gulen and the Pope together and they shall create a hybrid so-called- christian religion(joining false christians, jews, and Muslims), and using Mary as their commonality. The Second Vatican Council has a statement on one of the last pages( bullet point 20s) that says "we hold Muslims in high esteem" and then stating although Muslims do not view Jesus as divine, the fact that both religions agree Mary was the mother of a Jesus and the belief that Mary appeared to a daughter of a Muslin holds them in communication.(not concerned whether divine or prophet). One would have to deny Jesus as God to be a part of that.
He talks as if he is fine with his Jewish citizens and then puts an election, where they, according to their belief, should not be able to attend? I believe that God is watching that and sorting the sheep and the goats...but still... Erdogan's intentions are all thoroughly 'self thought driven'. Daniel 7 says the little horn has 'eyes like a man' and he fits the bill.

I think that belongs to Raptureintheairnow.com. I'm 100% with you on Erdogan. He has steadily risen on my list of suspicious candidates. Three factors that stick out to me: 1. Turkey is uniquely positioned as a core part of the old Roman Empire, the heart of the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium), the heart of the Ottoman Empire, and also part of each of the empires that ruled over ancient Israel (Assyria, Neo-Babylonia, Medo-Persia, Greek/Macedonian). 2. "The people of the prince who is to come" to me would need to be either Roman or Turkish/Assyrian - the ethnicities involved in Jerusalem's destruction in 70 AD. I think Erdogan fits both bills. 3. The "king of the north", which arguably refers at some point to the antichrist fits well with Turkey which is directly north, and in close proximity to, Israel.

As a pre-trib stander, I don't think we'll see him come to power; but I believe it says we'll see him coming and we're amazingly close! The more I see him rise on all those effective fronts - the fact that he has chosen Passover week, makes me thnk of the 3/12 mark. He will have done it once, why not being emboldened, by arranging the covenant, wouldn't Erdogan do again(?) He's the diplomatic 'looking' one, right?
Gary, I am a cousin of Fisher Man. I knew of him, but didn't 'meet'(by phone)with him until his August youtube. Had to call. He'd explained an awkward placement(to me) of a story of Israel. Why at the end of the Bible when we all know the story well at that point of the book....well now I knew!
We differ on rapture, but it makes for some good scripture conversations!

This Erdogan character sounds like bad news to me, but I still think Obama could be the Antichrist because he decided to stay in Washington. If Trump and Pence are gone after the rapture and there is all this crazy chaos, Obama will only be a few blocks from the White House and all the establishment forces will want him back in a jiffy.

willt86,
I certainly understand. I thought it might be him back in 2008, as he stood in Denver stadium with the backdrop of the white Denver colt - I thought he was announcing to the Islamic world "I made it! I'm here for you!"... but as 8 years of studying went past ( I'll give credit to him for making me check out the Bible on the AC..LOL)I learned more about the AC. Where I am today, he'd have to be elected to an office that oversees an Euro/Asia office to be the AC. Like the UN or ?. He did what his wicked heart led him to do - weaken and reduce America to a status where we could/would 'NOT' to come to Israel's defense. That made his action prophetic - no nation would come to Israel's defense. We would always have gone in the past on a dime. With him, he's made a mess of relations and our military. But the prophetic part is the Bible says God will get all the credit from Israel's rescue from Gog. There will be no mistaking who delivers them. Also, Obama helped(yuck) to separate the sheep from the goats in a way. His divisive ways have made hearts pick their masters - God or 'self'. That's what we are seeing all around us. Obama's office has been secular (worldly) for years and they wanted Israel to forget about their God and get on with the secular way. Though they have in many ways - they have not abandoned their religion like the world would like them to. But we are not of the world - we have overcome - because "HE has overcome!". He will continue to do his job of dividing. God will use him to sort the people. Hang in there and don't let him be the focus - spread the word that Jesus is coming soon! My prayer for him and the others is "God, I want 'your' will to be done, but as you know my mind and heart, I do seek wickedness to lose." It's best I can do right now with him, Soros, and the lot...
