One of the concerns I have had regarding the Harpazo, is what would happen to pets. If there is no way for them to leave the house, how will they be fed or watered? Cats are easier to deal with than dogs in some ways, because they are natural hunters and not scavengers. But what would happen to them if they got stuck in the house with no one to feed or water them? I believe it is a good stewardship practice to make some provision for them. Several people have commented in other threads about how to 'automatically' let them out of the house, which would work great for cats, since they can take care of themselves. I am not as confident; however, about dogs. So, I have a few plans set up that I want to share, since they are super simple and will at least allow for the pets to be taken care of, albeit for an indeterminate amount of time. Food:Feeders can be bought at walmart for about $5-$15. Depending on your pet size and eating habits, you can fill the feeder up for their use. You can buy more than one feeder. I would also recommend a crash course on them learning to be outside; particularly if you have a fenced yard. Providing for their feeding indoors is great, but what about the 'end' product? Water:I found this idea on youtube, and I think it is fantastic: Its a simple toilet fill valve installed inside a bucket (I cut a 5 gallon bucket down to about 2-3 gallons). The hose fills a platter that cats can drink from. A dog can drink from the bucket. The water source, a garden hose, is controlled with the float valve; and does not let the water run unless the volume in the bucket is depleted some. Then it only runs long enough to fill the bucket causing the float to close the valve. When the bucket is being replenished, the side tube also fills the platter, but only til the float valve closes. The side tube could be placed inside the bucket to fill faster., if the platter is not needed. The bucket requires a 1" hole to be drilled out of the bottom, approximately 2"-3" from the bucket wall, on the smoothest surface (inside and out) that you can find. This is where the threaded tube for the float valve pokes through and attaches to the hose as shown by the video. You will need to buy a 1/2" (male threaded) to 3/4" (female threaded) adaptor to connect the garden hose to the connecting hose and the bottom of the valve. NOTE: Since the float valve protrudes from the bottom of the bucket, you will need to elevate the bucket off the ground a few inches to allow for the connection. I also cut a little "L" shaped notch in the side of the bucket to 'lock' the tube into place. Total cost: A little over $20 and about 45 minutes of my time to set up. Parts bought at Lowes: Toilet fill valve, 1/2-3/4 adaptor, 12" stainless toilet connector hose Walmart: bucket (I bought a 5 gallon and cut it down. A 2-3 gallon should suffice.) Tools: Hand Drill with 1" spade bit, Box cutter/safety knife, marker.

Another Issue I have is what if the pets are indoor pets? I believe there is a thread post which gives a few good ideas, but I wanted to show what I did. There is a stick of pvc on the left that allows the window to be open about 4". On the right should be another stick of pvc that prevents the window from closing more than 2", leaving a minimum 2" gap that can be 'worked at' by the cats to get out. In lieu of a piece of pvc, a pencil stub should work. Here is the outside view. NOTE: This is a back yard window, where the back yard is completely fenced in and secured. This may be important to you as a consideration. In my scenario, the dog will have to spend a little more time outside than normal, to ensure it is not trapped in the house. So the plan is the put the dog out early in the morning, and leave the dog out til early evening, at least. With feeders and the watering valve bucket above, there should be enough food and water to last a few weeks after the harpazo. NOTE: Leave the toilet seat up in your house as a backup measure. The water wont be the best in the world, but until your water is 'turned off' by the utilities for non payment, the pet can at least get a drink from the bowl. Hopefully, the cats will have little trouble going feral. Depending on what kind of dog you have, your dog may be 'adopted' for protective measures, taken in some other way, or will likely be picked up by animal control and sent to a shelter. I believe these are better alternatives than starving or dying of dehydration.

Awesome yardstick, I think if our pets don't get raptured with us, the world is going to be so horrible they won't be able to survive long anyway. I asked an unsaved neighbor to get our dog should we suddenly disappear (but I told him I'd rather he and his family believe in Jesus before it happened anyway—that they were more Important than our dog). But I understand the need to give them every chance possible. We live in the city in a desert so our little dog wouldn't last long on her own anyway. She can drink out of toilets and get into the pantry, as long as there is still water and we leave the pantry door open. But, I kinda just trust God to do what is right and good toward His creations. I do believe we'll see her again one day. I can't imagine God creating animals with the personalities they have and other human-like traits, just to have them destroyed into nothingness. But, I trust Him, whether I'm right or not.

I have been praying for months that the lord prevent our cat, Jorge, from going through any of the tribulation. I would rather he die than suffer that. I believe the Lord will take care of our pets. Remember, the Israelites took their cattle out of Egypt, and Noah took a lot of animals out of the flood.

I am a 'crazy cat guy' LOL I miss all my deceased cats a lot; but the best cat I ever had I have right now. She's awesome. BTW, even if pets are coming along for the ride, the ferals (cats) probably wont be. So they can at least get a free drink of water and some food.

Yes, you're just a little north, but over 500 miles west! Coyotes, mountain lions, bobcats, hawks, and owls are are the main predators out here for pets. Just a few concerns, lol!

Great thread, yardstick! I am a crazy cat person, too! I've got two elderly girls--a small black one named Pepper (though she goes by many other names, such as Poo, Little Pea, Pooska, and Pooshka-Lu) and a big tabby named Tiger Lily (Lily or Lil for short, but most often Lily-Cat). My big fella Charcoal (aka Bug and Buddaboo), Pepper's handsome big brother (all black but for a lovely white smiley face on his tummy), is no longer with us, and I miss him so very much. I can't wait to see him again when we enter heaven. He was my big friend. One thing that is giving me some peace of mind for my two girls is that, should any disaster occur or my husband and I disappear, all of the neighbors around me know that we have two cats who are indoor cats. They also have cats, so I know that they have the know-how of petcare, and I think they can be trusted to alert authorities or try in some way to rescue my babies should the need arise.

I have done some research today and of course, a lot of praying. I have decided (and firmly believe God has answered me) that our pets will go with us. The Bible says Christt has prepared a place for us. A place with many rooms. Well...if He has prepared a space that will be mine then there is a space where my cats can live. He created my cats. He gave them to me to love and care for so it makes sense to me that my sweet furry babies will go with me. Also! There are animals in heaven. The Bible talks of the horses in heaven. AND the Bible talks of animals that are now enemies in the future getting along.
I prayed for my last cat. I firmly believe he was given to me directly by God. He would have known last year how much I would love this animal and how much I would grieve losing him. The Bible say there will be no more tears so how could he take my furbaby away from me? It just doesn't make sense to me when I look at things that way.

I too have prayed and talked to God many times about my kitties. I strongly believe that He will honor our love for our pets and take them with us, not because they gained salvation through Jesus Christ, but because He wants to give us the desires of our hearts!
March 2017 I had my kittens, Carmella and Gemma spayed. They had no post op problems and the Vet called a few days later to see how they were and they were fine.
About 5 days later I checked Carmella's belly and I was shocked to find a very hard lump on her belly the size of a small egg. I was shocked. I was pretty sure that it was a hematoma and was so worried and wondering what I was going to do to pay for surgery.
I was going to take a picture of it and send it to the Vet to see what she had to say but I calmed myself and decided to just watch it for awhile, that I would take her to the Vet if it got bigger or she developed a fever. I prayed a short prayer for her.
March 24 or 25, 2017 I picked her up and checked her belly. I had just been reading about how God cares for the sparrows. God cares for me more than the sparrows and He cares about Carmella because I love her. So I layed hands on her and prayed healing over her.
After checking her everyday over the weekend, March 27, 2017 I picked Carmella up and and looked at her belly. It was completely flat - no sign that anything had ever been wrong! Completely Healed! I tear up again as I type this.
If our loving Father was not going to rapture her, why would he heal her so dramatically?
HE LOVES US! He wants to give us the desires of our hearts. His love is BIG. We don't don't have the capacity to understand the enormity of it.
I hope this post helps someone.

I believe God will take care of our beloved animals, either by bringing them up with us or putting them to sleep until they can be with us forever. I can't imagine that He would leave them in fear. Last night we had some loud thunder and our cocker spaniel marched over to my lap and leaned against me with an expression that said, "I don't approve of that and I am not moving until it stops!" He has absolute confidence and trust in us, and I can't imagine that we would have to leave him and our other furry family to face an unbelievably horrible time. I think it is good to be well stocked with pet foods and make sure there's plenty of water. Even if our pets won't need it some other animals might. My $.02
