That could be dangerous cwood85 I think my thoughts on that are derived from my conditioning. I've heard the term so many times that physical Israel is still in covenant with God that after reading this the thoughts of Replacement crept in without considering the theme of the thread and that is "Spiritual Israel" rather than the physical Church replaced physical Israel

The Controversy of Zion - Part 2 - Hagar
Taking us back to the early parts of our kingdom story, we find that Abram, in the flesh, took it upon himself to try to workout the plan of God. When we walk outside of faith, we sin. Abram believed God’s promise, but seemed to think God was not powerful enough to accomplish it without Abram’s help.
Of course, we do the same thing in our life, don't we. Even in regard to salvation. Of course God wants to save everyone, he simply can’t. That is a small God. God is in the business of proving He is a big God. So Abram was told that the child he had with Hagar could not be the child of promise. God would produce that child so that there was no doubt who was in charge and who was God.
When man tries to accomplish spiritual things with physical effort he produces offspring (works) of the flesh and that is sin. And that is not of the promise.
Gen 21:10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
But we keep wanting to go back to our mommy, Hagar - the flesh. Hagar was from Egypt. Egypt represents carnality - death and sin. We operate in the flesh so much that many times even when we think we are walking in the spirit, we are still walking in the flesh. We look at ourselves, our battles, our victories, the past, the future, prophecy, etc….. and we think in the flesh about it all.
But Paul tells us the same thing God told Abraham.
Gal 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? Gal 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. Gal 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Gal 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. Gal 4:27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. Gal 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. Gal 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Gal 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. Gal 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
Some will tell me that this scripture is about not putting ourselves under the law once we have gained our freedom in Christ Jesus. Amen! It certainly is. But Paul uses some very telling terminology in the process of teaching this lesson.
Anyway….
Paul clearly tells us here that both Jerusalems want to be our mother, but we must decide who our mother truly is. We can align ourselves with the physical Jerusalem, the old covenant, and the letter of the law - or we can align ourselves with the New Jerusalem, the new covenant, and the spirit of the law.
We can align ourselves physically, or spiritually. The rest of Galatians finishes this message. Please take note of verse 29. There is a persecution that takes place when you align yourself with the spirit. The more you walk in the spirit - the closer you are to becoming the barley - true Israel. And in that process, you will experience persecution, and death of self.
But Paul then connects another passage and quotes from Isa. 54 - you should read that whole chapter to get the feel, but here is something from the middle:
Isa 54:10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee. Isa 54:11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires. Isa 54:12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones. Isa 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
Rev 21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
Isa 54 is talking about the same event that the Sign signified! It is talking about the birthing of Emmanuel - the true child of promise. The man child of Rev 12. The child that will be given the iron rod - the scepter of kingship. And the child that will be the beginning of the building of a beloved city. The New Jerusalem where each stone is one of us! The city of God is not a temporal set of walls and buildings. It is people! We are the many mansions. Even when we think we are thinking spiritually and considering the New Jerusalem - we still think of a physical city. No my friends, Christ is not going to marry a city! He is going to marry Zion - His true bride, his Rachel, His Israel - Christ is going to marry People! I won’t speculate as to which People. It will be all who have become Israel, but let us not take a possible victory away from any believer.
Think spiritual - walk in the spirit - we are dead to this flesh - think spiritual! Throw off Hagar and look to your true mother - Zion. Stop propping up that which is a slave and fleshly - Hagar - physical Jerusalem.
1Pe 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 1Pe 2:3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 1Pe 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 1Pe 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 1Pe 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood[Priesthood], an holy nation[Kingship], a peculiar people[Sonship]; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1Pe 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Mat 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: Mat 3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
Luk 19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1Co 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1Co 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 1Co 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Do you realize how much money Christians have spent sending “Jews” to the holy land? Ministries are still doing it today! And the thrust is on to even remove the need to evangelize the Jews because they are God’s chosen people. We even have Christians converting to Messianic Judaism. The excitement, by Christians about the possibility of a third temple being erected and animal sacrifices re-started is at a fever pitch. It is all an abomination to the Lord and it will make Jerusalem desolate!
We are the temple of God - We are the holy city - but we have not yet made ourselves ready. It will take the second work of Christ to do that when He comes for His fourth visit.
Luk 19:44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
Luk 19:46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Mat 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Do we know our hour of visitation? Is the temple within us a house of prayer or do we attempt to steal our salvation with our own acts? Do we rob others of the truth and judge others prematurely? Are we forgiving? Do we love mercy? Are we ready to serve - to the death if necessary? Are we part of the mob that is trying to take the kingdom of heaven by force - through a physical state, a physical sword, a physical city?
Or is our mother Zion? Our only weapons the Armor of God? Our only orders the walk of faith? Our only hope - Jesus?
Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Amen!
In the next post I will demonstrate the history of the Glory of God on earth as far as we know it. Soon I will discuss the outcome of Edom/Judah’s coming into the land and the unexpected results that seems to be about to occur. I will then need to cover the 70 weeks of Daniel in detail. At that point, we will start tying up any loose ends.
Please continue in prayer as the battle, for me, is intensifying.
To God be all glory and to Christ, the Kingdom!

Isiah 54 brings hope, peace, & immense joy to my soul. It even brings tears to my eyes. To think of Zion brings about these emotions.
Let His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!
Even so, come Lord Jesus!

The Glory and The Name
We spoke already of the glory of God descending on the mountain during the first Pentecost. During these meetings between Moses and God (Jesus), Moses received instructions on how to build a tabernacle. It took about a year before this tabernacle was fully assembled and when it was, the glory of God inhabited it. Effectively, where the Arc of the Covenant was, so was the Glory of God. But once Israel arrived in Canaan, a more permanent location was established and so we see:
Joshua 18:1 Then the whole congregation of the sons of Israel assembled themselves at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there, and the land was subdued before them.
But as spiritual leaders tend to do - the priesthood that had been established under Eli, and which administered at Shiloh - became corrupt. God could not stand to remain in a place with a corrupt priesthood and so He removed His Name and His Glory from Shiloh.
1Sa 4:12 And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes rent, and with earth upon his head. 1Sa 4:13 And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside watching: for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city, and told it, all the city cried out. 1Sa 4:14 And when Eli heard the noise of the crying, he said, What meaneth the noise of this tumult? And the man came in hastily, and told Eli. 1Sa 4:15 Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were dim, that he could not see. 1Sa 4:16 And the man said unto Eli, I am he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son? 1Sa 4:17 And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken. 1Sa 4:18 And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years. 1Sa 4:19 And his daughter in law, Phinehas' wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father in law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her. 1Sa 4:20 And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast born a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it. 1Sa 4:21 And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband. 1Sa 4:22 And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.
When Solomon completed the temple, God placed his Name in Jerusalem. And His Glory He placed in the temple Solomon built.
Psa 78:59 When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel: Psa 78:60 So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men; Psa 78:67 Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: Psa 78:68 But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved. Psa 78:69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.
And we see the moment God placed His Glory in the temple here:
1Ki 8:10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, 1Ki 8:11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.
2Ki 21:4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.
But of course, we are dealing with earthly people and earthly locations and so eventually - Jerusalem became corrupt as well. So we find this:
Jer 7:2 Stand in the gate of the LORD'S house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD. Jer 7:11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD. Jer 7:12 But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel. Jer 7:13 And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; Jer 7:14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. Jer 7:15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
Jeremiah was prophesying of something that would happen later and so Ezekiel received the vision of the actual Glory and Name departing Jerusalem:
Eze 10:18 Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.’
And then a little later we see the glory alive at the Mount of Olives - outside the city.
Eze 11:22 Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. Eze 11:23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.
This is the location that David gave a sacrifice unto the Lord. His sacrifice was a prophecy of what Jesus would do many years later - very likely on the same mountain. And this sacrifice occured in the midst of the betrayal by Absalom - which is a foreshadowing the betrayal by Judas - which is a foreshadowing of the betrayal of the modern day friends of Jesus who will betray Him in this day.
2Sa 15:29 Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there. 2Sa 15:30 And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up. 2Sa 15:31 And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness. 2Sa 15:32 And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head:
And then we find that Jesus ascended to Heaven from this same spot.
Act 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? Act 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Act 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. Act 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. (Matthias Chosen to Replace Judas) Act 1:12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
The glory was departed.
Even though the second temple was built. It did not contain the Arc of the Covenant. There is no record of God returning his Name to Jerusalem or His Glory to this second temple. What happened for many years was a charade by the priests. This charade was exposed when Jesus died and the veil was torn to expose the nakedness of the physical temple of God.
When Jesus declared:
Mat 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
He was confirming the prophecy of Jeremiah that the Glory of God had departed such a place.
When Jesus ascended from the very spot that Ezekiel had last seen the Glory of God, it is my opinion that He took the glory with him. And 10 days later, the glory of God was placed with the believers:
Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
From that point on, the construction of the temple and city of God began as living stones were molded and chiseled into perfect stones ready to be combined with other stones that would build the City of God and the Temple of God.
Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Looking back, we see that even though God did fill Solomon’s temple - Solomon prophesied of a day where no building - no city - could contain God.
1Ki 8:26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father. 1Ki 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? 1Ki 8:28 Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day: 1Ki 8:29 That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
And we find that, when the time is right - God will places his Name on His people.
Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
The Spirit and Glory and Name have moved on - and like we have been trained to do - we must follow the Spirit in faith.

Was reading Jeremiah last night and this verse stood out to me the most.
"I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken unto them, yet they prophesied" Jeremiah 23:21
I truly feel this coming year we need to stop ourselves from acting on our own accord and start listening to God so that we may be in one accord with the Kingdom of God.
I feel convicted in my Spirit to remove the idols from my heart and "clean house" so to speak with zealous ferver as Jesus did in the temple with the money changers and merchants.
Does anyone else feel this way?

@silentknight How do you reconcile verses like the passage below from Zechariah? I am having trouble making the distinction between physical/spiritual Jerusalem & Judah. Will you be expounding on Jerusalem at some point? For example as we watch the news we can certainly apply "cup of trembling" to what is happening today (this month). While the siege hasnt happened yet in the physical, it is happening in the spirit. Isn't it? Physical Jerusalem is becoming a burdensome stone, yet not the whole earth is against it (yet). Can we apply the governors of Judah in the spiritual sense, while looking at inhabitants of Jerusalem in the physical (verse 5)? I also see that in verse 6 how spiritual Judah (us) will be the governors (kings & priests) like fire (HIS Fire) devouring sin around us. MikeTaft - yes I was talking to the Lord (I did some listening and meditating too) this morning and had very similar thoughts and confessions. I have many idols (distractions included) that keep me from or rather keep the fire from burning as it should. Pray for each other as the day approaches!

I think Sk said this somewhere in these 3 threads, saying that Scripture will come alive like never before. And I think he suggested reading Peter, I dont know. I reread 1 & 2 Peter. BOY HOWDY does this ever make sense now!!!! Especially 2 Peter going into chapter 2..
1But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. 2Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; 3and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
All the teachings from those who operate their preaching through the fleshly lenses. Not instructing us to perfect our faith but our works. I see how important it is now to UNDERSTAND the Spiritual realm. It has gone completely forgotten from many doctrines and can see now how confusion has come about in understanding God's Plan. I can see too the confusion of how the dispersing of the kingdoms and the reason for it has gotten lost in translation to those of us in modern days.
even this verse I know so well has a whole new meaning to me:
Eph6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Praise the Lord!

My friends, you bring me such joy as you explore scripture and share your new understandings. You will begin to find that almost anywhere you look in scripture now you will see Restoration, Hearing God, and Spiritual Kingdom. Each passage will begin to contain nuggets of truth and over time you will wonder - how did we ever miss this. Even now, we can see our friends and family - genuine as they may be - completely missing what to us has become dynamic and true. For those who are coming into Restoration - I will repeat this line from the introduction to Restoration so you can see and understand the change within yourselves: I praise God for each of you daily! MikeTaft - so many times you hit the nail right on the head and condense my volumes into easy to swallow pills of truth: Amen! This is exactly what we need - hear the Father - respond, in faith. barbiosheepgirl - I love your raw enthusiasm. You and grandpaskitzo are not afraid to be real and we need that so much. Integrity of character and prostrate before the Lord is virginity of spirit. cwood85 - your faithfulness in the spirit is revealed to me. The battles wage, but God is training you for spiritual warfare and the only way to do this is through skirmishes and practice. Stay strong by resting in Him and know the testing is for your strengthening. Failures happen and teach us for the next battle. mike - who has overcome and been brought back into the covering wings of our Savior. You have been a strong arm of support and a faithful friend. Thank you. (I'll cover your question about Zechariah 12 in a bit. I would like to get the the next post out first however, and will likely come back to the Zech question after that.)
And to the rest of this body, who are following along and allowing this message to be sifted in their spirit. May the Lord bless you and reveal His truth to you as you diligently seek Him.

The Controversy of Zion - Part 3 - Resolution
This post will finally cut to the chase. You have been given a foundation of understanding. This foundation has laid out the situation as such:
Now, I ask that you pray and submit your spiritual eyes to the Lord and we can see what will happen in the near future.
What is the destiny of physical Israel, Judah, Modern Israel, and Jerusalem?
Ancient Israel: Small remnants of Israel have merged into Judah and have been scattered around the world. The majority of Israel is lost and unaware of who she is. The key here is that Israel has lost her place in spiritual Israel and so, at this point, she is spiritual inconsequential. However, there is good evidence that Israel migrated into Europe and became the backbone of the European countries to migrate throughout the world. I want to make it clear that, even though there is evidence for this - it does not matter to anything else we are teaching, whether or not this is true. It could be easy to attach significance to the idea that we, as Americans, may be descendants of Israel, but to attach any spiritual significance to that would be to see genealogy as spiritually significant - and it is not, and that is kind of the point to this whole thread. If it is true, God may be doing a secret work that will reveal itself in time. And either way, their hidden nature is a reflection of the hidden nature of the Sons of God. This is why all creation is waiting for the revealing of the Sons of God.
Judah / Esau / Modern Israel (I’ll just call this group Judah for simplicity): Unless Jesus was wrong, Judah will not repent. In which case, Judah will need to be removed from the land and removed from the name Israel. I'm just going to go out on a limb here and suggest that I believe Jesus was right. But you have to choose for yourselves.
Jerusalem: Ah yes, Jerusalem. The City of Peace. The word Jerusalem is a plural word. It has always been two cities. One earthly, one heavenly. And the fate of the world, literally, lies within her.
But it is the heavenly city that will truly bring righteousness to the world - not the earthly. You see, our inheritance is not a piece of land. Not some spot of soil. Our inheritance is our spiritual body. Our Promised Land is Us. And so now, Jerusalem has become a “cup of trembling” as some translations say. But it does not quite have us trembling, does it? I mean, are you trembling? Maybe out of excitement of the soon return of the Lord. But not out of fear. Because Jerusalem still stands and defies the nations and says, “I am a queen! and shall not be a widow!”
Who is the one that drives Judah to believe she is Israel? Who is the one that drives Christianity to support Judah, not only as Israel, but as those that will bring in the Kingdom of God on earth? Is it not the the man of lawlessness, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. Keep in mind, the temple of God is within US - Christians. So even now, he, and Christianity along with him, proclaims “Hail Jerusalem - Hail Israel - Hail the man made temple!” While the true temple of God is overcome day and night. Some are outright put to death, others persecuted, others only overcome by the works of materialism, lust, greed, and sloth. Meanwhile the King, who is about to return and claim the birthright, must listen as his people, Christians, allow this man of lawlessness to sit within their temples and proclaim Jerusalem (Hagar) as the true city of God - as their mother. They, like Judas, are kissing the anointed one.
There is only one thing that will truly make the nations tremble - and that is when Jerusalem truly becomes a cup - of wrath. God will resolve the Controversy of Zion. God will remove the source of controversy! And then all who worshipped after the physical Jerusalem, Hagar, will know that God is not putting His name on physical earth and dead stones, but on spiritual people and living hearts. Then, when that which restrains is removed, the deceiver will be revealed.
Mat 21:19 Seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves only; and He *said to it, "No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you." And at once the fig tree withered.
Jesus prophesied that Judah would never bear fruit again. Will we believe Jesus? Or will be believe today’s prophecy teachers?
Mat 21:43 "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it.
And what people will produce the fruit of the kingdom? Spiritual Israel, as seen here:
Isa 27:6 In the days to come Jacob will take root, Israel[spiritual] will blossom and sprout, And they will fill the whole world with fruit. Isa 27:12 In that day the LORD will start His threshing from the flowing stream of the Euphrates to the brook of Egypt, and you will be gathered up one by one, O sons of Israel. Isa 27:13 It will come about also in that day that a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were perishing in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt[slavery to sin and death] will come and worship the LORD in the holy mountain at Jerusalem[spiritual].
We see that Jerusalem is responsible for the death of all the prophets, saints, and apostles (remember Jerusalem is now spiritual babylon, sodom, egypt)
Luk 13:34 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her[apostles]! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it! Luk 13:35 "Behold, your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, 'BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!'"
Confirmed that this is all post 70 AD as well.
Rev 18:24 "And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth."
And the result:
Rev 16:5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, "Righteous are You, who are and who were, O Holy One, because You judged these things; Rev 16:6 for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. They deserve it."
And more proof that Jerusalem is now reflecting the opposing kingdoms - no longer the kingdom of heaven.
Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
But will Jerusalem be rebuilt?
Jer 19:3 and say, 'Hear the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, "Behold I am about to bring a calamity upon this place, at which the ears of everyone that hears of it will tingle. Jer 19:7 "I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place, and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies and by the hand of those who seek their life; and I will give over their carcasses as food for the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth. Jer 19:8 "I will also make this city a desolation and an object of hissing; everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss because of all its disasters. Jer 19:9 "I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they will eat one another's flesh in the siege and in the distress with which their enemies and those who seek their life will distress them."' Jer 19:10 "Then you are to break the jar in the sight of the men who accompany you Jer 19:11 and say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Just so will I break this people and this city, even as one breaks a potter's vessel, which cannot again be repaired; and they will bury in Topheth because there is no other place for burial. Jer 19:12 "This is how I will treat this place and its inhabitants," declares the LORD, "so as to make this city like Topheth. Jer 19:13 "The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will be defiled like the place Topheth, because of all the houses on whose rooftops they burned sacrifices to all the heavenly host and poured out drink offerings to other gods."'"
Jerusalem has been destroyed many times, but it has always been rebuilt. This means that this prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. That means this is still in our future. For those who say, well the people were destroyed and that is what the passage is referring to. In verse 8, 11, and 12 it says, this city. In verse 3, 7, and 12 it says, “this place”. What kind of destruction could result in such permanency?
Isa 29:1 Woe, O Ariel, Ariel the city where David once camped! Add year to year, observe your feasts on schedule. Isa 29:2 I will bring distress to Ariel, And she will be a city of lamenting and mourning; And she will be like an Ariel to me. Isa 29:3 I will camp against you encircling you, And I will set siegeworks against you, And I will raise up battle towers against you. Isa 29:4 Then you will be brought low; From the earth you will speak, And from the dust where you are prostrate Your words will come. Your voice will also be like that of a spirit from the ground, And your speech will whisper from the dust. Isa 29:5 But the multitude of your enemies will become like fine dust, And the multitude of the ruthless ones like the chaff which blows away; And it will happen instantly, suddenly. Isa 29:6 From the LORD of hosts you will be punished with thunder and earthquake and loud noise, With whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a consuming fire. Isa 29:7 And the multitude of all the nations who wage war against Ariel, Even all who wage war against her and her stronghold, and who distress her, Will be like a dream, a vision of the night. Isa 29:8 It will be as when a hungry man dreams—And behold, he is eating; But when he awakens, his hunger is not satisfied, Or as when a thirsty man dreams—And behold, he is drinking, But when he awakens, behold, he is faint And his thirst is not quenched. Thus the multitude of all the nations will be Who wage war against Mount Zion. Isa 29:9 Be delayed and wait, Blind yourselves and be blind; They become drunk, but not with wine, They stagger, but not with strong drink. Isa 29:10 For the LORD has poured over you a spirit of deep sleep, He has shut your eyes, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, the seers. Isa 29:11 The entire vision will be to you like the words of a sealed book, which when they give it to the one who is literate, saying, "Please read this," he will say, "I cannot, for it is sealed." Isa 29:12 Then the book will be given to the one who is illiterate, saying, "Please read this." And he will say, "I cannot read." Isa 29:13 Then the Lord said, "Because this people draw near with their words And honor Me with their lip service, But they remove their hearts far from Me, And their reverence for Me consists of tradition learned by rote, Isa 29:14 Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous; And the wisdom of their wise men will perish, And the discernment of their discerning men will be concealed."
A sudden whirlwind, tempest, flame, thunder, earthquake, loud noise, consuming fire which burns up both the city and the enemies like chaff and turns them to dust. And then, afterward, the enemies will be like a dream. It will be like a hungry man, who dreams he ate, but then wakes up hungry. Why? Because that which the were fighting for, striving for, desiring, hungry and thirsty for - which they thought was just within their reach - in one hour - is gone! I'll leave that to you to speculate what type of weapon could cause such destruction.
Rev 18:2 And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. Rev 18:3 "For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality." Rev 18:7 "To the degree that she glorified herself and lived sensuously, to the same degree give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, 'I SIT as A QUEEN AND I AM NOT A WIDOW, and will never see mourning.' Rev 18:9 "And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning, Rev 18:10 standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.' Rev 18:19 "And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea became rich by her wealth, for in one hour she has been laid waste!' Rev 18:20 "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her." Rev 18:24 "And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth."
And if we look at this from the angle of Esau instead of Judah: Esau/Edom thought He could keep the promised land for himself - and claim the name Israel - but he could not bring in the kingdom and his time was up.
Eze 36:5 therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who appropriated My land for themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and with scorn of soul, to drive it out for a prey."
Mal 1:2 "I have loved you," says the LORD. But you say, "How have You loved us?" "Was not Esau Jacob's brother?" declares the LORD. "Yet I have loved Jacob; Mal 1:3 but I have hated Esau, and I have made his mountains a desolation and appointed his inheritance for the jackals of the wilderness." Mal 1:4 Though Edom says, "We have been beaten down, but we will return and build up the ruins"; thus says the LORD of hosts, "They may build, but I will tear down; and men will call them the wicked territory, and the people toward whom the LORD is indignant forever." Mal 1:5 Your eyes will see this and you will say, "The LORD be magnified beyond the border of Israel!"
Isa 34:4 And all the host of heaven will wear away, And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll; All their hosts will also wither away As a leaf withers from the vine, Or as one withers from the fig tree. Isa 34:5 For My sword is satiated in heaven, Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom And upon the people whom I have devoted to destruction. Isa 34:6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, It is sated with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah And a great slaughter in the land of Edom. Isa 34:7 Wild oxen will also fall with them And young bulls with strong ones; Thus their land will be soaked with blood, And their dust become greasy with fat. Isa 34:8 For the LORD has a day of vengeance, A year of recompense for the controversy of Zion. Isa 34:9 Its streams will be turned into pitch, And its loose earth into brimstone, And its land will become burning pitch. Isa 34:10 It will not be quenched night or day; Its smoke will go up forever. From generation to generation it will be desolate; None will pass through it forever and ever.
It is hard to escape these prophecies. The teachers have either ignored them, or explained them away. Each of us must decide for ourselves. But the words of the prophets and the words of Jesus seem to be pointing to one thing - and it is confirmed by John in the revelation.
There is only one city that is held responsible for the death of all the prophets - and that city today is a reflection of Babylon, Sodom, and Egypt.
Luk 13:33 "Nevertheless I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.
The very opposite of what everyone is expecting is about to take place. The utter destruction of Jerusalem. And when God serves these divorce papers upon Jerusalem, there will be a great falling way of believers from the Church and the teaching they thought they knew. The Christian shepherds will fall and hide. The flock will scatter. They will be scared and leaderless and confused. The one thing they could count on was that Jerusalem would be rescued by the Messiah at the last minute. But she was not - the Messiah did not show up. What went wrong?
But God is preparing a remnant that will go into the nations with the Gospel of the Peace and this Gospel of the Kingdom and preach it to all the world. They will shepherd the flock that was scattered. The spirit of God will rain down upon the earth and, for the first time in 3000 years - physical Jerusalem will cease to block the way for people to see the one true King.
Ok. I think I have run out of offensive things to say. I’ll pause for a bit.
May the Lord forgive us. May He have mercy upon us all.

Sooo with everything said here thus far...where does this place Gog of Magog in Ezekiel 38 & 39? As it is declared, Gog comes against the land of Israel.
Are we seeing this coalition happening at the end of Jesus's 1,000 year reign on earth as mentioned in Rev. 20:8?

MikeTaft - I knew this one would come up sooner or later - thanks! Your question reminds me of a video by Amir the other day. I found it amusing because people put such stock in what he says. But there he was on video for all to see claiming that Israel was living in peace and that they were a land of unwalled villages. He went so far as to say that he felt more safe in Israel than in America. He went on for some time in this vein. This was all to try to prove that Ez 38 was right around the corner. Do we want so badly for Ez 38 to happen that we are willing to suspend reality and our own powers of observation? Israel is a walled country and contains many internal walls. Israel has terror attacks monthly or even more frequently. Israel has missiles rain down on her regularly. Israel has enemies building tunnels underneath her to kill her. The only reason Amir may feel a bit safer in Israel is because thereare armed soldiers everywhere. And if there is danger in America - it is from criminals - not the enemy. Don't we have to be real about the situation in Israel today? Does it really match Ezekiel 38? Today, the settlements are virtual fortresses, they have walls, bars, and gates. Israel is expecting war every day. They are not living securely and at rest. If we have integrity - we will admit that Israel today, does not match this: Ezekiel 38:10-13 speaks of Gog invading "a land of unwalled villages" and coming "against those who are at rest, that live securely, all of them living without walls, and having no bars or gates." ------ I would argue that Ezekiel 38 already happened. But like so many things, it took place in a way that was not expected. You may have heard of the Islamic approach to conquering the west. Here is a quote: This is what Judah did when they "invaded" Canaan and fulfilled the prophecies of Ez. They came from many nations. They came from the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh. They came from Meshech (Moscow), Tubal (Tubolsk), Togarmah, Eastern Europe, Poland, Germany, Persia Libya, and Ethiopia. They came as immigrants as a cloud covering the land. They settled everywhere in the area. The nations listed in these passages did not send official Armies. But the people arrived from those nations non-the-less. Eventually, these "attackers" will be destroyed - in the very situations this thread has been describing. When these people came - the land did match the description given - it was "a land of unwalled villages" and her people were "at rest" and living "securely, all of them living without walls, and having no bars or gates." Obviously, this is a quick answer - and I'm sure I'll get some grief for it. I can produce more proof for it later. Side note: I'd also like to bring up something else - in all theories of End times, there is much debate. So even traditional prophecy teachers disagree about who these nations in Ez 38/39 are, etc.. But, when there is some unknowns in new theories, those unknowns are often used to discard the whole theory. I encourage everyone to be ok with some unanswered questions. We simply don't understand in full yet.

My Bible reading for last night was the part of Revelation about Mystery Babylon and as I meditated on that section I could see where it was possibly something spiritual that was driving the merchants, rulers, etc. And then I come today to get caught up on your thread and see this very thing addressed. I'm still not completely with you on somethings, but I see where you are coming from. I know that the spiritual is much more real than I had ever been taught (I've been learning this over the past couple of years). You have given me much to think on.
I forgot something...We were doing a lot of driving today, and so I was thinking on being living stones and being built up with other believers, and how we each have different gifts (colors?) and talents (shapes?) and yet we can all be put together into a beautiful "building" that will glorify God.
