Many very interesting suggestions going on here.
This is exactly what I'm currently thinking. Satan is the "prince of the power of the air" as of now. His army is no laughing matter nor is it figurative. I've been following L.A. Marzulli's research since 2014 or 15 and I tend to think most or even all of these unexplained UFO sightings and "aliens" are the devil's servants. He has an actual supernatural army that is readying itself to attack the Church on its way "up". Michael intervenes in what will be the biggest cosmic conflict in history.
I wonder though how cosmic battles are won or lost. It seems immortal beings can't suffer defeat in the same way armies can on earth. Consider the long battle between Gabriel and the Prince of Persia in Daniel that lasted 21 days until Michael intervened. A one on one angel match basically seems like a draw. It's like Superman vs the Hulk. Both are invincible (except by God). Yet when a third angel shows up (Michael) and the battle becomes two on one, the enemy is forced to retreat. Perhaps angelic warfare doesn't result in fatalities as we think of them on earth, but instead is more like a heavenly chess match where pieces can only be "removed" from the board - the board being Heaven. Satan and his angels aren't "killed", they're just displaced from the high ground when Michael shows up with overwhelming force and are forced to retreat to earth.
In the gospels Jesus says we will be "like the angels in heaven". To me Hebrews 2 implies as much, since our being made presently "a little lower than the angels" is compared to Christ's incarnation. 1 Cor. 15 states that Believers will become both immortal and incorruptible in an instant at the rapture, so indeed satan does not want that to happen. Hundreds of millions more added to God's army will surely turn the tables.
Or consider this incredible possibility: Michael and satan are evenly matched at present and stuck in a millennia-old stalemate like the Daniel 10:13 stalemate. The glorification of the Church is what turns the tide and Michael then has the resources necessary to kick satan and his forces out of Heaven. Just speculation.
great question... Is the dragon devouring because he wants to kill? Or actually become ... Anti means I place of....in place of Christ?... One more little problem... If the labor pains come after the birth...then why is she crying out in pain to give birth? 2 births? One the church and one the Antichrist? Any thoughts?
I wonder about this myself. Isaiah 66 does seem clear that the birth happens before labor. Daniel Matson, Steven Sewell and others find here evidence that the rapture will happen shortly before 9/23. Perhaps on the 21st or 22nd. The woman then does not have "pains" until the full sign forms. This fits also with the miraculous birth in Isaiah 26.
Revelation 12:17 contains a very important clue: the woman has other offspring. Not just the male child. First the dragon tries to eat the male child. He fails because of the rapture. Then the dragon tries to eat the woman. He fails again because of the woman's flight to the wilderness. Then he goes after her other offspring. Perhaps this other baby (or babies) is the one that causes her birth pains in Rev. 12:1-2. This baby is only born after the pains of the Tribulation therefore this baby might be the Jewish remnant and/or the Tribulation Saints.
In fact, perhaps the reason the Church will be snatched up to God's throne--a sudden yank to safety, rather than a leisurely, peaceful tour of the universe guided by our Lord en route to heaven--is because the Dragon will attempt to thwart the Lord's plan by attacking the Church at the time of the resurrection. Maybe, too, if indeed the Dragon does make an attack on the Church during the rapture, perhaps that is why war suddenly breaks out in heaven and Satan is thrown down to earth. Revelation 12:7-8 says, "Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him."
