I'm really enjoying reading through David's song. And even though much of it is what God did for David against his enemies, there is such good truth about who God is.
2 Sam 22:32-36
For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? This God is my strong refuge and has made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have given me the shield of Your salvation, and Your gentleness has made me great.
I suppose we can consider that God trains us for the spiritual fight and has given us His armor (Eph 6:13-18)
A side note, there is a children's book called The Bronze Bow that both my son and I enjoyed. The title does come from this Scripture.

Lamentations 3:21-25 But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in Him." The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.

I wanted to find a verse about clouds today because as I was driving to and from my parents house yesterday the sky was just beautiful. Going there the clouds were big and puffy but with flat bottoms. On the way home I was driving around a big rain shower and stopped to take a picture and just worship a bit. Psalm 147:7-11 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre! He covers the heavens with clouds; He prepares rain for the earth; He makes grass grow on the hills. He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry. His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor His pleasure in the legs of a man, but the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His steadfast love.

Another weather one -
Job 37:5-6, 10-13
God thunders wondrously with His voice; He does great things that we cannot comprehend. For to the snow He says, 'Fall on the earth,' likewise to the downpour, His might downpour.
By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen fast. He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds scatter His lightning. They turn around and around by His guidance, to accomplish all the He commands them on the face of the habitable world. Whether for correction or for His land or for love, He causes it to happen.

Prov 3:5-6 Probably a familiar one to most of us
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
With all that's going on around us we must still just trust Him. I think when we put our trust in Him it is easier to see Him at work also.

John 6:35
Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in Me shall never thirst."

John 10:9-10
I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

John 10:11-16
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, see the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
Recently I went through a study on Romans and then on Mark. There is a common theme that it is the Jew first and then the Gentile. The same theme is here in John. He came to the Jew first, but then He would also have Gentile sheep - to create one flock with one Shepherd. He truly is the Savior of the world.

There is a common theme that it is the Jew first and then the Gentile. The same theme is here in John. He came to the Jew first, but then He would also have Gentile sheep - to create one flock with one Shepherd. He truly is the Savior of the world. Reminded me of what was said about Pentecost in Zola Levitt's Booklet, The Seven Feast Of Israel. From page 9 Lev 23:17-Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD. This subtle instruction indicated a great truth. These two "wave loaves"are of equal weight and they are baked with leaven. They are called "firstfruits". Since they are baked with leaven , they represent sinful man (certainly not, for example, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, who are unleavened) and since they are "firstfruits" they are redeemed or resurrected men. Obviously God was predicting here that the Church would be comprised of two parts, Jew and Gentile....

John 11:25-27
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believers in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" She said to Him, "Yes, Lord; I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world."

John 14:1-6
"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going." Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going. How can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No ones comes to the Father except through Me."
