Welcome, Sawdy, your testimony is an encouragement to me too. Keep praying earnestly for your husband and other family members. Sometimes they have to observe the Lord before they're ready to talk, but keep a good attitude in the Lord and remember--one of the most powerful testimonies for the Lord is HOW you react to things that happen and things that people do. Keep your chin up, you can do ALL (needful) things through Christ, who strengthens you.

Hey guys,
My name is Adam and I'm studying to be a lead pastor. I go to school at Oklahoma Wesleyan University for my bachelor's degree in leadership and ministry and I currently mentor at my church under on of our pastors. I am 25 and I live with my wife in our small little mobile home.
My upbringing into the Christian faith actually happened by studying revelation. I know it's weird usually most people read the gospels, but nope I was invited to a bible study studying revelation and that was the first time I read a bible. So I worked my way backwards, but first I studied revelation thoroughly and I guess I can say got obsessed with it. I mean God destroying the world and then saving all of mankind after destroying so many people sounded so cool to an anime loving nerdy kid who didn't care about anyone but himself. That was how it all started, but after years of making mistakes and trying to live my life my way, I learned the hard way the true message of the gospel.
See I never understood the love of Christ and I never really could wrap my mind around the gospel, and the loving people part was the hardest thing for me. All I had was hate for people for most of my life, and then you read the bible and God says you have to love people, my mind automatically thought how impossible that was! At first I had revelation because I just wanted this world to be destroyed, I gave up and had no joy or no reason to live in my mind, but then I met my wife and I idolized her and made her the reason I was living. I made my wife my god that I followed and blindly obeyed, because she was the only one who showed any love to me. That is why it was so hard for me to grasp the gospel.
Well as you can all guess, that didn't really work out well. I mean a person is not perfect and they cannot fulfill everything that God can. After years of misery in my marriage and almost getting a divorce, I was brought to my knees. So a few years back I pretty much gave up and fell even farther in depression, so I had no where to go, so for some reason I felt compelled to go to Easter service that year at this church my parents used to take me to. We all know how amazing God is so guess what the pastor was preaching? YUP he was talking about how God can come into our lives and change our situations and He only has the power to change and love us. Since I gave up on every other route I decided I'd give God a shot. So I kneeled and prayed for real and asked Him into my life.
A few weeks after I was on fire I never felt so alive in my life. I mean if God can make a hopeless depressed person who doesn't care about living actually feel alive, then why isn't everyone following Christ? That's the way I was thinking, I can tell you my marriage got better, I started to feel like my life had meaning and that this world maybe had some good to it. It is amazing how different we see the world then how God sees it.
After giving my life to Christ I devoted my life to studying scripture and trying to tell others about Him. I couldn't help myself, my thinking was if God can change me why shouldn't He do this for everyone else. So that started my journey and the calling that God gave me to share His awesomeness with the world.
Now I know most of us are on this site because we have noticed a lot of changes and crazy things happening to the world. A lot of us think that the end is coming and I tend to agree with that. I cannot picture the way humans are now and the way that this society operates to continue to exist without destruction from the Almighty. So if the rapture happens or doesn't happen this year, the most important thing we need to remember is that their are still lives to be saved, if the rapture happens in September like a lot of people think then we need to work so much harder. So I know its scary to talk to strangers especially in the world we live in today, but remember that each soul saved is more important than our own lives who our already sealed and written in the Book of Life.

You have a powerful testimony. Thank you for sharing it with us. Christ breaks every chain.
I agree that we need to be on mission more now than ever. Now is the time.

Whoa! Thank y'all for the warm welcome! It's gonna be awesome to meet y'all in spirit at our new home. Would any of you be willing to read and parse a little write up I did the other day before I post it? It's a slight addendum to the Rev. 12 sign. I would appreciate more learned eyes than mine checking it over. I let a family member look it over and they seemed astonished that I could even string together words to form complete sentences Sure I'm willing like I am sure most of this group is.....

Welcome, Joel! I spent 4 and half months in Australia and loved it, but that was before you were born! (1997-98). Some places I spent time in or near include Edenhope, Cobram, Mt. Gambier, Shepparton, Melbourne, Sydney, and Cairns. I have a number of friends in Oz to this day, in various locations, and others that have moved here to the States. Good on ya for joining up, mate, and i Hope we can continue being a blessing to you. I hope we can help people in every nation by the time we're done--we're starting to be a rather international bunch here already, and the church is clearly a world-wide entity as the Body of Christ.
Jim

Those are the ones I'm immediately aware of--maybe somebody else will chime in with more! I sure would love to have some Chinese Christians on here, but they have a heavily censored internet.
