Really excited to be here with you all. I'm FB friends with a few here but don't interact much. It's nice to see peaceful discussion of such a wonderful topic!

I'm in my (ahem) middle years. My father was a preacher and I came to understand my need for Jesus early but spent decades as a relatively successful Pharisee Thank the Lord He invaded my world and blew up that mess.

My first experience with prophecy teaching would be in the seventies with Hal Lindsey and The Late Great Planet Earth. Our view back then was rather simplistic but the interest in prophecy was exciting and new. We lapped it up like babes for sure. Even though most of that early teaching was milk, we understood that Jesus would return to take us home and ours was the final generation. Over the decades, fads came and went. The Left Behind books left a negative impression, Camping wasn't even a blip on the radar, but I did buy some beans for Y2K. There's a difference between baseless speculation and fulfilled prophecy that points to His soon return. Israel becoming a nation and this Rev12 sign in the heavenlies fit that criteria. Just so excited I can hardly stand myself

I've swing from pre-trib, to mid-trib, to post-trib, then all the way back to sure-and-certain pre-trib where I'm happily awaiting His return with joy and I'll tell you a secret. My view of that subject seemed to hinge directly on my view of the Almighty as my father. As long as I viewed God as a vengeful deity who still wanted to squish me all flat, I couldn't fathom that He would come before the tribulation. As He has healed and cleansed my heart over these last ten years or so, I finally understand what a loving, merciful father He truly is and how much He longs for His children. It seems it's impossible to rightly interpret scripture if you don't know His heart.

On another note, I was around and following the prophecy circles going back to the 88 Reasons and on through and never-- Never!--have I thought any of those predictions were correct. This is different. There's an urgency, a boldness, a drawing in the spirit that's never been there before. Whatever happens in September, His promises are sure. He is coming back. And, the time is short.
