Yardstick, and take a look and see why erdogan is demanding that Fetullah Gulen is extradited to turkey. Gulen is a mystic. Sufi is a hybrid and pope John paul gave Gulen awards. Put Sufi Islam and Catholicism together and you'll have a hybrid religion finally achieved per Second Vatican council aim. If Erdogan could forge two billion man religions- he'd have a lot of stroke. Eh?

My Kurdish moslem source showed me about an "ancient" "testament" that was found, I think in Turkey, that the moslems are using to try to tie Christianity and Islam together. I can't remember if it was the (so-called) Gospel of St. Thomas, or some other such book, but it was being used to make a case for synchronizing the two faiths. There are many out there who would love to see that happen, unfortunately.

Eh? I am trying to tie together why erdogan would go after Gulen. Eliminate competition? Gulen has been 'restraining' erdogan and he (erdogan) just figured it out? I dont see the sufi connection with Gulen, unless Erdogan wants to push the Sufi stuff and Gulen has been against it? I guess I just dont know enough details about the ins and outs of Turkish politics/history for the last 70 years or so.

Erdogan is not about religion, he's about power... military power. This is why he continues to take pictures surrounded by people dressed in every military garb that the ottoman empire ever warm throughout history. He's very proud of that part of turkey. Turkey is secular but he would like to see it go religious.... not so much that he believes in it but his history is toward the Islam side. If you look at when the second Vatican Council was made, something has to of been known in the background that they were trying to join the Muslim and the Catholic faith...so the idea of joining the two is an old agenda that the powers that be on the earth have been slowly waiting to come to fruition at just the right time. It is here. Googling has lived in a secular world too long he knows that military power is not enticing...slow frog boil is better. Erdogan wants to harness what Gulen has achieved...The ability to get along with many different faiths could be very useful though you may have to take it by powerful means and put it under your subjucation. The Arab countries are divided between the secular and Islam, they must be brought together So that the Arab world can come together (?)

I think I understand the motive you are talking about: If erdogan can get control of the factions that gulen is influencing, he can forcibly unite the religious factions, and then claim that the religious factions are united (the forcibly done part wont be common knowledge). Does that sound about right?
