More frequently than I desire or often care to admit, I am pulled by the current of this world back into a temporal, carnal mindset. I frequently have to remind myself that this world is NOT all there is and that we have tremendous promises from the Lord that guarantee phenomenal days ahead, no matter how the eschatological timing ends up unfolding in His will.
So, for my own benefit as well as perhaps at least some of those who read this, I offer up the following reminder of promises of things we have to look forward to as followers of Yeshua (no implied claim to all-inclusiveness or absolutely correct dogmatic sequencing
):
1) Experiencing the harpazo itself. How phenomenal will that virtually instantaneous transformation be as we wake up on the other side in the presence of the unfiltered glory of our Savior , with the added bonus of redeemed bodies with full functioning capacity intended by the Creator and no effects of the fall. Whoaaaaa! Stop the list right there. That is enough for eternity!!! But there is so much more.
2) Experiencing worship of our God around His throne while enveloped with the presence of His glory.
3) Experiencing the Bema Seat, where our God actually rewards us. Can you even fathom that God is giving us rewards? How awesome is that? In my mind, this just gives us something of value to offer back to Him. Not sure how much of what I have done with my life here on earth will measure up to our Maker’s standards for any kind of reward, but I think I am going to at least qualify for the crown that goes to those who love His appearing.
4) Spending seven years at Abba’s house with our Bridegroom, while He hides us from the indignation being poured out upon a God-hating, Christ –rejecting world below.
5) Enjoying the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Talk about the party to beat all parties!!!
6) Returning to earth with Him, on horseback no less. The ride of an eternity. No worries for those of you who may have a history of not liking or even fearing horseback riding. This one will be so full of His glory that not even the tiniest remnant of fear will be able to remain, even as light chases away darkness.
7) Watching Him absolutely destroy His enemies at Armageddon, those who simply refuse to repent of their rebellion and subject themselves to the authority of God willingly. God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, so I suspect we will find no pleasure in the sense of the eternal condemnation of those who would not come, but certainly a sense of awe as God righteously deals with those who hate Him. As I understand it, we won’t be doing much fighting. Our God has got this.
8) Rejoicing as we see Him establish His millennial Kingdom on earth. I suspect a new millennial Temple dedicated on Hanukkah, 75 days after the Yom Kippur date when He sets His feet upon and splits the Mount of Olives.
9) Having the privilege and honor to rule and reign with Him for 1,000 years on earth. Not sure what “work” will be like, but I’d like to believe we will all be slotted in “jobs” that fit our giftings and aptitudes perfectly. What depth of purpose and meaning to be found in our work at a level far beyond anything we may have been blessed to experience in this fallen world.
10) Experiencing His creation of a new heaven and new earth, dwelling forever in His eternal presence in the New Jerusalem, loving and serving our King forever. No more death, mourning, crying or pain. Satan and his minions cast into the Lake of Fire never to torment or harm us again. Who can even begin to fully contemplate the wonder, beauty, glory and majesty of such a place???
Truly, brothers and sisters, the best is yet to come…and judging by the signs we see, it may begin much, much sooner than an unsuspecting world and a sleeping “church” have any idea. May God grant us wisdom, grace, and power to spend these final days in ways honoring to Him and fruitful for His Kingdom, even as we are looking up and crying out from the depths of our souls, “Maranatha, Lord Jesus!!!” Watching for You today and longing to be in Your presence!!!
