I feel like I've been missing all the action this week guys...sorry. Its like you stop paying attention for just a couple of days and all of a sudden the dominos start falling...America attacking Syria...Russia maybe will retaliate...then there goes Damascus and the prophecy will be fulfilled. What do you think will happen from all of this? I think Russia and Syria have to strike back to save face. And you know how sometimes it seems like God is sending us coded signals? Well how about the NUCLEAR OPTION for the Supreme Court being triggered for the first time ever right before this big attack!! Nuclear explosion next??

Yeah. The same day tornadoes rip through Washington DC. Don't tell me it isn't auspicious. Whirlwinds are significant to prophecy.

Wait...tornados his D.C.?? How did I not hear about this? www.fox5dc.com/news/local-news/247098905-storyCherry trees being cast down in Washington symbolically might mean somebody is telling the truth, or has an opportunity. The old folk tale is that George Washington chopped down his father's cherry tree, and when asked about it, he told the truth, so his father didn't spank him. That this happened at the Jefferson Memorial (imo the greatest president there ever was, in terms of understanding Natural Law, and he wrote the Declaration of Independence), has to be significant too. Plus there's the Mid-April Crucible-- I will make another post about that.

What do you think will happen from all of this? Hi, willt86! I am suspecting that whomever eventually controls Syria, whether actually Syrian himself or a person of another nationality placed in charge of Syria by the UN or US or other nation, will be the King of the North and the antichrist as described in Daniel 11. I find it fascinating that at this very time in history there is such a contest to determine who will be in power over Syria.

I wonder what God might be wanting Trump to tell the truth about? Something doesn't sit well with my spirit regarding this Syrian situation. I read an article explaining that from a political point of view, nothing could be more favorable to Trump right now then putting the supposed Trump and Putin connections to rest because of heated tensions over Syria.

Yes, I am not pleased about the Syria situation either, and I wish Trump would leave well enough alone. I smell a trap, bigly.

Doesn't seem like it will take much now for Damascus to go...I hear the war drums beating!

Somebody is a traitor and it's not clear whom. As I suggested weeks ago, I suspect Damascus will be blown up by someone and someone else will be blamed for it--Israel, US, whatever.
Let's look at some of the specific prophecies regarding Damascus:
Genesis 14 and 15 shows that Damascus was an established city at the time of Abraham (Abram). This makes it among the oldest continuing cities in the world, c. 1900 BC.
Gen_14:15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. Gen_15:2 And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
2 Samuel 8 and I Kings 11 show that David conquered Damascus and for a while it was tributary to Israel. C. 1000BC.
2Sa_8:5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men. 2Sa_8:6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
But by the time of Asa, c. 900BC, Syria had rebelled and become a sovereign nation again, and the tables were turned-- Asa gave tribute to Damascus. Damascus and Syria would go on to trouble Israel and Judah for many years thereafter.
In Ahaz's day, c. 725 BC, Damascus was captured by Tilgathpileser of Assyria, and Ahaz made gave tribute to Assyria to avoid war with the Assyrian juggernaut. Ahaz brought new idolatry from Damascus to the holy temple of Jerusalem, in the form of a pagan-style altar, with which he replaced the original altar.
Isaiah predicted the fall of Damascus to Assyria and gave it a date-stamp--it would happen before the child would be able to say "my father" and "my mother."
Isa 8:1 Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz. Isa 8:2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah. Isa 8:3 And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz. Isa 8:4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
This precedes the Isaiah 17 passage we have been studying. It is fairly clear to me that Isaiah 17 is a multi-fulfilment prophecy-- with Isaiah-Age material as well as Last Days material. What I am now looking for is clues in Isaiah 7 and 8-- WHAT IF THESE TWO PASSAGES ALSO HAVE CLUES TO ISAIAH 17?

In Isaiah 8:1, the word "roll" is found only twice in the Bible, both in Isaiah.
It is גליון which is pronounced Geel-yon, and it is considered by Strong to mean tablet, mirror, plate, glass, or roll. But it gets more interesting-- In modern Hebrew, it can mean paper, sheet, list, newspaper, or data sheet. . . . .
Maybe I'm making too much of a jump here, but "what if" what Whatif has done in making her spreadsheet, is the same idea as what Isaiah is told to do here? What if in our day, we are encouraged to make a chart? A spreadsheet--to determine the timeline? And here, God says, to put the fall of Damascus on it? Ok, so what if, Isaiah 8 is multi-fulfilment?
It gets more interesting when we look at the other place this word is mentioned, Isaiah 3:23, in the great "Hedonistic Women" passage, which I also believe is multi-time period. . . . . .

Gives me a new burst of steam for continuing the investigation for the timeline!
I wonder what the name Mahershalalhashbaz means. Also, could it be possible that after the "birth" in the Revelation 12:1-2 sign the Damascus prophecy will occur somewhere in the time span that would be considered how long the baby would learn to speak?

Good thinking. . . . Could be. . . . I was wondering similar things. . . .

I found the following meaning for the name Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz in the NIV Bible translation footnotes: "Quick to the plunder, swift to the spoil."
