Happy thanksgiving!
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever" -1 Chronicles 16:34
I'm on my break from the kitchen as my husband is making a pumpkin pie amd I have the turkey in the oven. Once he has cleared out of kitchen space, it will be crunch time.
My menu tonight: Roasted turkey with thyme and rosemary Gravy (hubby's contribution) Cranberry, honey and apple sauce. (I usually make a cranberry/orange/ginger sauce but I forgot to buy fresh ginger) Mashed potatoes with parmesan and wild mushrooms Butternut squash Green beans Coleslaw made with pineapple and celery seed and the pumpkin pie that my husband is making. (I am a poor baker- he has let me know that- lol, so I leave the pie making to him- honestly I am not that poor at it, he is just better)
I may be Ukrainian/German background but you would be hard pressed to find a perogy or a cabbage roll at any of my meals that I cook. I grew up eating too many good ones to make my own less satisfactorily editions of those items.
It is a good day to be thankful. 😀

Oh my, oh my! Wish I were sitting down at your table right now, sawdy! That sounds absolutely delicious! If I trade you some of my own Thanksgiving recipes, may I ask you for your recipes for the turkey with thyme and rosemary, the cranberry/orange/ginger sauce, and the mashed potatoes with parmesan and wild mushrooms?
In fact... I think I might just start up a new thread in the "Whatever" category where we all can share our holiday recipes...
You just made me hungry, sawdy!

At least the snow held off until after Thanksgiving. Woke up to a dump this morning. There are some farmers around me behind enough that their canola is still in the field. I tried to start getting ready for the snow morning routine over the weekend but still had a challenge getting the kids dressed properly and out the door on time. Fortunately, they didn't miss the bus because she had a windshield wiper malfunction and had to call the bus mechanic, so they were waiting for the mechanic on the bus. They are off now and I have to track down my snow shovel and decide if I should try and get my winter tires put on later today.
