My son is in biology this year, and we are greatly enjoying it. Some of it is tough, like learning all the big words. But we have done some really neat microscope work. Toward the beginning of the year we did an experiment with pond water and was able to study some bacteria. Pasta makes them multiply....a lot! Today we looked at mold we had grown on a strawberry. Upon first glance, he called it "fuzzy and disgusting," and I admit that mold kind of creeps me out. However, it is so fascinating under the microscope! My daughter (age 9) didn't find it quite so fascinating, but she did come check it out. So, I got to talking with my daughter later about just how great Creation is. Even though mold could be described as fuzzy and disgusting, it is so helpful in the way God created things to work. And, individually, it is so tiny! And then you could get to thinking about how big we seem to tiny things like that, but how small we are in the world. And I often wonder why things are the sizes they are, but yet, everything in Creation works together perfectly (as perfectly as it can in a sinful world, that is).

Cool stuff Natalie. It amazes me how things work all the way down to the subatomic level. Everything happens with such precise calculation that the idea that we all just randomly appeared in the universe is beyond lunacy!
