Eric Metaxas gave us a good book about Dietrich Bonhoeffer. In the end, the bravery and good character of Bonhoeffer, nearly got rid of hitler for us, as an assassination attempt on hitler missed by a hair's breadth. Bonhoeffer was hanged for treason.
During the Weimar Republic, there was a group of theologians who created what we know of today as, "Neo Orthodoxy" The German Neo Orthodox theologians included Bonhoeffer, a student of Reinhold Niebuhr, Karl Barth, and Paul Tillich. According to Niebuhr, these men considered themselves responsible for the election results of the 33 election, where the German masses elected that monster. The error they made in the runup to this election is one of the same order as many of our church leaders today in America. They believed that "Good" polite reasoning could build the ideal society. That Education alone would produce salvation for the masses. In their development of the curriculum for the part of the German Christian populous they exercised control over, they deliberately left out a core theme of the Israelite Literature, that being, the "falleness" of Adam's race. Unfortunately, this played out very badly for the German Protestants, as the "superman" idea swept the nation in the election, leaving them as chattel slaves for the machines of the super men.
While I was relieved to see Trump win, and the evangelicals carry the victory by a nose, what they did not do in the two previous presidential elections gave us 8 years of DAEMONIC control of that office, thus setting the stage for antichrist in the middle east. Compared the the Neo Orthodox theologians mentioned above, contemporary evangelical leaders do in no way consider themselves responsible for the two previous elections. Their ongoing lack of remorse is why I am writing this, accompanied by the fact they are unaware of the "Signs of the Times" that Jesus warned us of.
As church leaders, we should all recognize the responsibility left us by the founders of our republic, who recognized could only be maintained if the Churches could maintain the intrinsic righteousness that was present in the years of our founding. Because we have not been very good at this, and satan has infiltrated badly in many instances, it is obvious to me, and that from the scriptures, that a purification will ensue while the lame duck leaders in Christendom pass into the Apocalypse "UNCOVERED" for lack of FAITH.
I will not cover here what this faithlessness is, as it should be obvious to any genuine saint by this time.
"The Son of Man will send out His angels, they root up from His KINGDOM everything that causes sin, and all who do evil, throwing them into the blazing furnace..."
The name "America" means: Kingdom of Heaven
