Pope Francis has also apparently offered indulgences for anyone following him on Twitter during his visit to Brazil.
i have some Catholic friends and I really want to think they are saved and following Jesus.
But when I see stuff like this, I have to really wonder just what they are putting their faith in....

Exactly. I do believe SOME Catholics are truly saved, but that church makes it so difficult to access the true way of salvation--they're almost like a soccer goalie trying to keep anyone from entering in. They certainly would never see it that way themselves, but that's what it amounts to. I do think sometimes a shot gets past them!

That man both irritates me and freaks me out! I don't even want to think about what the 'church' will look like after the Rapture.

I do believe SOME Catholics are truly saved I agree, watchmanjim. I, too, have some Catholic friends, and I know from their own testimonies that they do indeed love the Lord and believe in Him as their Savior. It seems the Catholic Church can be a huge stumbling block, and yet there are within it those who have indeed found the truth despite the obstacles.

You know I've been thinking we should make a concerted effort to pray that something big happens in the Catholic church before the rapture to wake Catholics up. Maybe Pope Francis reveals his true beliefs and some bishops decide to leave and join a protestant denomination or something.

Agreed. A wake up call, perhaps? You should put that on the prayer section.

Pray for the spirit of pride to be removed, and that they see the Truth. They have been told that 'the church body" means the Catholic Church and that the pope is infallible and becomes Christ upon taking the sacrament.
They can say words and attest to things that they don't even know what they mean or care because if the pope said it or the priest said it and it is enough for them. They've been taught the catechism and not the Bible. The Bible says in Amos 8 , that the word of God will disappear from them and it will not be found even though they look for it. I pray all the times for those that we love and appear to have good hearts, that they will come to the truth and salvation on this side of the tribulation...according to his will.

At first I decided not to share this, but I have changed my mind. I had an unusual thing happened to me yesterday, it was Catholic spiritual warfare.
I was at a machine shop, and dropped A few seeds of truth to the owner and his son, 50 and 22. They were both catholic. Another man walked up and appeared to be the next customer. Strangely enough he chimed in and said I was totally correct that something that was coming. After I walked out I found out he was only selling tacos, which they turned it down. But the man chased after me to talk more. He was wearing a hat that had Mary as the design. We talked about people falling away and then he made the statement that his sister fussed at him about worshiping Mary , and he made the comment that people who did that hated Mary and that meant they hated Jesus' family. I reminded him that when Catholics do not call theirselves Christians and believe that they are saved by Mary, that it does not help their witness and he pointed at his hat as if I had offended him. He agreed that only Jesus saves but that Mary did pray for them. The Lord had not opened his eyes completely so I just smiled.
He then asked me if he could give me something and I said sure. When he returned he brought me a Bible a Catholic devotional and a bunch of novena cards. I told him I would pass and that was not being rude as I led him to the back of my car , And showed him the cases of Bibles and paraphernalia in the back of mine. So he gave me the devotional and the novena cards, and I politely gave them back and told him I did not understand that and was not raised in Catholicism and I would rather get out things that I understood. He proceeded to tell me that he would pray for my unbelief. I smiled and with a chuckle said "oh, okay". As I got in my car he came to me again and asked to pray for me, and I said he was welcome to because in my mind he was trying to be thoughtful , even though it was a mixed up way. I told the Lord I knew that his prayer was going to hit the ceiling then come back down so it was ineffective anyway. He asked me to concentrate on Jesus walking down the road with the cross and people spitting on him and told me that Jesus had done that for me. I told him "I think you're confused, I believe that Jesus is the only way" he did not have to convince me of that. So then he whipped out his wallet and showed me a portrait picture of Jesus' shroud that people claim to have. He asked me to focus on it and he began to pray with his beads. I politely put my hand on his and said I'm not into doing all of that. So then again he asked me could he pray For me, and I said yes. So he just put his hand on mine and we closed our eyes. After no sound for a while I looked up and said "are you praying silently?" and I looked down and saw that he was praying silently and going through the beads. I stopped him and said "no Prays WITH me that I cannot hear the words! " And he hung his head and walked off.
This man professed that only Jesus saves, and he thinks he is doing what Jesus said to do. They are so blinded by creative word play and rituals that they can never focus on the word of God. That's that's what all 'isms" do,...keep the Focus on rituals, traditions, and listening to words of man.
One of the things that stood out to me yesterday, was that he accused me of hating Jesus because I did not believe that Looking to Mary was correct. By the use of the word 'hate', you could see how the indoctrination is getting more combative and brutish.

Yes, and this is very sad. I know other Catholics who are not nearly so blinded, and they seem like they may truly be saved.

My daughter-in-law is as you speak. She knows that Jesus is the only way. She loves Pauls books. She just has some trouble with praying to the Saints, that comes From the Catholic churches word play on "Saints" and "traditions".

I find it interesting that during the Millennial Reign, our positions and function as glorified saints will be much more like the concept the RCC currently holds of saints. During the MR, the non-glorified people will not pray to us per se, but they will come to us for instructions and advice--we will rule over them. The RCC saint concept is not nearly as inaccurate as it is improperly timed!

Thank you for the link, watchmanjim! Interesting that many Catholics are also taking note of the Revelation 12 sign!

Question, I may be just not thinking. I talked to a Catholic the other day who told me that Catholics believe that the sign of the woman is Mary. Mary was a virgin. And then we say the woman represents Israel. The constellation is Virgo. ??
