I posted a request back in July that I had some sort of stomach bug and then we thought it might be an allergic reaction. Well, I got sick again in Aug with the same type of thing - nausea and vomiting, no appetite, but also had diarrhea this time (sorry if that's TMI) . Went to the ER a couple of different times for fluids and one of the doctors decided to do a CT scan (and a couple other tests). She thought it was colitis. So, I got some meds but they didn't seem to help much, but I did end up with some nausea meds that seem to help. I was sick about 2 1/2 weeks with this. So, I am also losing weight.
I went to a gastroenterologist, and he didn't seem to think it was colitis. They did a bunch of blood work and a stool sample, but everything came back normal. One of his comments made me wonder if my body is just having a hard time recovering from Covid, and it may take 4-6 months to get back to normal. In the meantime, I have a colonoscopy and an endoscopy scheduled for the 16th.
So, please pray for me. I am really struggling today. I had about a week and a half where I was feeling better, but this week I am sick again. Thankfully not as bad, but the nausea meds are making me really tired. I am thankful that my husband is available to help, but there are just some things that I need to do, and I have no energy. I am physically and spiritually worn out.

Natalie, I thought that you were doing well. This is awful news; that your illness remains. Words can not express my feelings of gratitude to you for being such a good example to follow. You know that you are in my prayers. Peace and love to you and your beautiful family. Stay close to Jesus, our Lord and Savior. He is with you and your family always. May His blessings of peace be upon you that you are protected in righteousness. That your family may be strengthened to endure the heat of the day; that His holy arm will comfort you. May the gift of guidance be upon you is my prayer to the Father. That you strengthen your family and guide them in paths of righteousness that is so natural to your character. That this illness will melt away from you; a sister so worthy. Blessings from the Savior and peace is my prayer. God bless you Natalie.

Make a notebook log of what you are eating, and days when you feel bad as part of it. Change what you are eating each week, one week at a time; so that from one week to the next you are not eating the same pattern of foods. If it is a food reaction, this will likely catch it. You also might have a naturopathic doctor test you for food allergies. You might be allergic to something, like dairy or gluten.

Thanks, mike , My procedures were at 11:15. I was done about 2:30, I think, and came home and slept til 5. So, I will update what I know so far. I am going to have to wait on some of the results. I am relieved that they did find something and now we can work on what's next. The procedures themselves I was aleep for, but the prep wasn't fun. Tasted like salt water. Anyway, the diagnosis right now is esophagitis (means my esophagus is red and inflamed) and is probably caused by a hiatal hernia (which is where part of the stomach has gone through the diaphram.) I may have acid reflux, too. This came from the info they sent home as I didn't see the doctor before I was dismissed. They found the hernia and a nodule of some kind near where my esophagus and the stomach meet. They also took some biopsy samples, and it may be a week before I hear anything about those. They put me on a med called protonix which I was actually on a couple of weeks ago after a hospital visit (but no real diagnosis that time) and was feeling better. So, hopefully I will start feeling better again and will let you all know if the biopsies show anything, or if I have to have some kind of surgery for the hernia. Thank you guys so much for your prayers.

I was reading on places like Mayo Clinic -Surgery would be a last resort. Medicine and diet change usually solves the problem.

If you are into it, I understand that Whole 30 can help to reset your gut and then you can add new foods and see if there is a reaction. There are also food tolerance tests that you can get privately. I hope to do one myself soon. www.amazon.com/EverlyWell-Sensitivity-Responds-Different-Available/dp/B076QFSJM1You've really been taking a beating lately. May God comfort you and ensure you get the right answers.
