Well I recently got back from my beach trip. My wife and I were celebrating our 5th anniversary, plus the news of baby #2 on the way. If I hadn't mentioned it yet - it's a girl!
Anyway, it appears that I was bit by a venomous spider yesterday on my thigh. It's been swelling pretty bad and the site of the bite expanding. I read that if its anything except a brown recluse it will heal on its own, but if its a recluse there is not much a doctor can do. There is no anti-venom. You just have to take lots of benadryl and use cortisone.
Please pray that my leg heals quickly and this doesn't turn for the worst. I'm not too worried and I trust God, but a few prayers would be great.
God bless, Gary

Get it checked out if it doesn't get better overnight. There are 3 species of poisonous spider in the US--the third one is one that gets called a brown recluse a lot because people think there are only 2 kinds. Many of them get misdiagnosed as brown recluse spider bites. One of my co-workers got a brown recluse bite--he was in the hospital for several days.

Gary, that is frightening! I will pray for you! Also, I don't know the details of how this low-voltage stun-gun principle works, but here's a thought for you on poisonous spider-bite treatment...

By, the way, that's awesome news about a baby girl, Gary! God is so good!

Well so far so good... it doesn't look much worse today, still just pretty swollen and itchy.

Forgot to mention this, but God answered your prayers!
The spider bite is 98% healed.
What's amazing about this is that it got progressively worse and I compared the bite to pictures of spider bites and it looked identical to brown recluse bites (at least to me). It looked different than black widow or sac spider bites (the only other venomous spiders in the area)
If it was a recluse - God certainly answered prayers because they often cause death or serious necrosis of the area.
Thank you all.

I am so glad to hear you are recovering well! I will continue to pray for the remaining 2% of the healing!
