Other than Paul's statement "at the last trump" what is the biblical basis for believing that Jesus will fulfill the Feast of Trumpets using the harpazo?

The Feast of Trumpets has been traditionally thought of as the resurrection of the dead. It is also called the day of the awakening blast. Since many christians equate the resurrection of the dead with the rapture / harpazo, they attach the rapture with the feast of trumpets. But there is room to believe these are two separate, but closely timed events.

Just found out something!
Lev. 25:8 ‘And you shall count seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years; and the time of the seven sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years. 9 Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land.
This is a Jubilee year, so technically the last trump could be on the DoA!
Fascinating video here...

I read this article last week. I find it to be very well written, couldn't suppress a smile sometimes.... At least it is very interesting to get more informations on the history of the FoTr and the background of the Jewish history regarding the Karaites. I believe, we should always pay attention regarding the origins.

Other than Paul's statement "at the last trump" what is the biblical basis for believing that Jesus will fulfill the Feast of Trumpets using the harpazo? Hello Hillary ;-) Great post. Here's 20 off the top of my head. ;-) OK. in total fairness, most are Biblical cross references, and some are facts from Jewish culture, and others are circumstantial. Still, no other Feast even comes close to having all the markers and parallels to the rapture. I have the whole document if you or anyone else is interested. - So first, we look at the historical context - we have Paul, a Jew, writing to a mixed audience. (Jewish audience with more and more Gentile believers.) Colossians 2:16-17 see 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
He is saying the feasts, and new moons, are a shadow of things to come. - Feast of Trumpets (commonly known as Rosh Hashanah) is the only feast that begins on the new Moon.
**This is significant because for all the other feasts, we know the exact day when they happen. Passover is always on a full Moon, 14th of Nisan, in the evening - twilight. Feast of Unleavened Bread is Nisan 15th. It starts at sundown, when Passover ends. Day of Atonement is always 10th of Tishri. Yom Teruah - Feast of Trumpets is two days long. Sometimes the new moon is not sighted, because it can be cloudy or raining; and this is why ‘No one knows the day or hour’. - The name in Hebrew is Yom Teruah, and the word Teruah means blast, but literally ''shout". It is known as a day of Shouting. Hmmm. 1 Thes. 4:16-17
- For centuries, Jews have understood that the resurrection will happen at Yom Teruah, and this is not an invention of modern Judaism. It is confirmed in the Talmud, [the commentary to the Tanakh,] which is believed to be the actual oral instruction God gave to Abraham. 1 Cor 15:52.
- There are exactly 7 days between Feast of Trumpets, and Day of Atonement. (perfect parallel to the Tribulation) Jews call this the Ten days of Awe, Days of Repentance. The 7 years of Tribulation will be a time of repentance for the Jews who rejected the messiah. Revelation 7:3-4 These 144,000 sealed are the Jews that are saved in the Tribulation, especially after the Abomination of Desolation, when the Temple is defiled by the Anti-Christ.
- One of the biggest themes for Yom Teruah is Day of Coronation. Kings were always coronated on Feast of Trumpets.
- ***Jews also believe that Yom Teruah is the Birthday of Mankind – the day Adam and Eve were created -humanity. In Hebrew, if you turn the letters around, "In the Beginning" becomes First of Tishri.
- Christ fulfilled all the first four Spring Feasts in perfect order and perfect precision. The three fall feasts are yet to be fulfilled and are thus connected with End-times events. Rapture, Tribulation, Second Coming, and Millennial reign. The next one in order is Feast of Trumpets.
- The Feast of Booths/ Sukkot will be fulfilled in the end of time. In Zechar 14:16-19 we read that all nations Jews and Gentiles will celebrate Feast of Booths, Sukkot. This is the 1000 year millennial reign; there is no connection or parallel to the rapture. No shout, no trumpets, no open door, no ‘harpazo’ rapture event, etc.
- The only feasts that have trumpets are Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement. Day of Atonement doesn’t have these other markers, open door, shout, coronation of the King, etc.
- At Feast of Trumpets, two witnesses have to see the New moon/ crescent in Jerusalem, and then it is confirmed by the Sanhedrin - Jewish council. They blow 99 blasts of the Trumpet. 4 distinct types of blasts/ sounds. Short and long alternating blasts, and rapid broken, staccato blasts. Then, the "Last Trumpet" is the 100th blast - the loudest and the longest. It goes as long as the trumpeter has breath. There is a special name in Hebrew, just for the Last Trumpet -Tekia Hagadol.
- Jews believe that the Door of Heaven is opened at Feast of Trumpets and closed/ sealed at Day of Atonement. See Rev 4. 1-2.
In Revelation 4:1-3, There is the Door of heaven opened, a voice of a Trumpet, and the words "Come up here!" - The context of Rev chapters 1-3 is to seven real churches in Asia Minor - epistles, and then Christ says “Come up Here”, and the church is not mentioned again until Rev 19, at the Second Coming, when Christ returns with the Church, and comes down to Earth and sets his feet on the Mount of Olives.
The 'trumpets' passage in Rev 8-10 are Seven Trumpets being blown by seven different angels - Not the Trumpet of God! The context of these seven trumpets is judgement and wrath, horrible destruction and plagues. Rev 8-10 are Bowl Judgements and is a totally different purpose, context and separate trumpets [Angels vs 1 trumpet of God] from I Cor 15:51-52. - ***One of the most important things left out by the so-called Rev 12 sign proponents, is that Paul said that the Gospel was given to the Gentiles to provoke the Jews to jealousy. Jews will not be provoked to jealousy by a huge eclipse in America, or some alleged September alignment, which by the way happens after the Feast of Trumpets. What is the point of having a ‘sharp curve’ or ‘falling rocks’ sign 2 miles after the event? None.
- Jews will be provoked to jealousy, when the resurrection happens, and the Gentiles are resurrected, and they missed it, and it happened on their feast. When the door of heaven is opened, and they not ushered in to the wedding chamber.
- **Jews will be provoked to jealousy when the Messiah comes with a Shout, and takes a Gentile Bride!!
During the 7 years, the bride will be ''hidden away'' in the chuppah - the wedding chamber, and their eyes will be opened when the Anti-Christ is revealed, and they will be reconciled at the Day of Atonement. 7 years later. At the Millennium, Christ will rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Yeshua ha Maschiah, and all nations of the earth will celebrate the Feast of Booths, Sukkot. Zechariah 14:16-19 Maranatha.

This gal Melissa on the video is misinformed. 1. No credible evidence from history, or the Bible that Feast of Trumpets was moved or delayed to Day of Atonement. Also, this verse that she cites - which is listed above Lev 15:8-9 says nothing whatsoever about the Feast of Trumpets being moved, changed, postponed or delayed. I'm not saying - you - but rather she is doing "eisogesis" -reading something extra into the text that is not there. It is only saying that the trumpet is sounded on Jubilee. What she doesn't mention is that the trumpet is already sounded every year on Day of Atonement. Again, I'm not saying you- but she - is practicing the same kind of poor interpretation that people say the "last trumpet" mentioned in 1 Cor 15:50-52 is the trumpet in Rev 8-10. 2. There is no credible evidence that this is a Jubilee year - I fell for that too, because it sounded good. This interesting theory was popularized by Rabbi Jonathan Cohn, and the Schmita cycles which he connected to the stock market crashes. The other source for the alleged Jubilee years was the ancient prophecy by Rabbi Ben Samuel. The problem is - that when you read these articles and it talks about 400 years before Ottoman Turks invaded Israel, etc, that the Jewish calendar was 360 days - and a leap month added 7 times in 19 years. **Metonic cycle. This added leap month is why there are two Adars. Even Jews today cannot give us evidence that we are in a Jubilee year. ***I would be so happy for you or anyone to correct me, and I would with great joy, apologize on the public shout box. ;-) Why?? Because these are arguments that really sound good, but they just get recycled from one Messianic teacher to the next End-Times Prophecy guy with a web-cam.
I studied and searched and searched, trying to find some confirmation that the phrase "No one knows the day or hour" was a common idiom that was a direct reference to FOT. I've even consulted multiple rabbis, and no one - Bible scholars with PhD's in Greek and Hebrew, not the Messianic rabbis, prophecy gurus, nor non-Christian rabbis can provide any evidence to corroborate this. Maybe it exists somewhere. It makes 100% sense, because it's the only Feast that starts on the New Moon, but I wanted to be sure. The same is with Jubilee years. All the sources I can track down go back to Jonathan Cohn, or Rabbi Ben Samuel. Please understand - I'm not trying to be combative. I've even contacted multiple prophecy teachers from You-Tube, and none of them can provide any evidence. I want to be like the Bereans and searched the scriptures to see that these things are true. Blessings. Maranatha.

Overall I like the effort disciple4life put into this post and a lot of the content of the post is good information. I do have a couple comments that might or might not be significant to some: 1. The Feast of Trumpets is not also called Rosh Hashanah. These are two different "holidays" happening at the same time. But they are distinctly different. One is secular (Rosh Hashanah), the other a Feast of the Lord. 2. There are not 7 days between the biblical Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement. FoT is on the 1st of the 7th month. DoA is on the 10th. Tradition has added a second day to FoT. which puts them closer, but still not 7 days. 3. Please see this post: unsealed.boards.net/post/11163 as an explanation about the sign and provoking the jews to jealousy.

Please see this post: unsealed.boards.net/post/11163 as an explanation about the sign and provoking the jews to jealousy. Yeah, buddy. Spot on. Appreciate the input and clarification. I really appreciate you, my friend. - 2. There are not 7 days between the biblical Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement. FoT is on the 1st of the 7th month. DoA is on the 10th. Tradition has added a second day to FoT. which puts them closer, but still not 7 days. This is correct- It's always good to clarify. That's why I use the term Yom Teruah, rather than Rosh Hashanah. **For people who are new, or just learning about the Feasts, it's helpful to know that there is a lot more information about Rosh Hashanah than Yom Teruah (in terms of research- finding information. Silentknight is correct that according to the Biblical description, it was not originally set as two days - however this practice has been well established for centuries, even back before Christ, as they long ago realized that it was hard to spot the new moon. The same is true for the other idioms - even the ones that are confirmed by the Talmud. They came into practice over time- ** The best example of this is the phrase The Thief in the Night. This is well-documented by multiple Christian commentaries and confirmed by the Talmud, that this refers to the high priest. ;-)
It should also be noted that the other practices in the Passover such as the matza being pierced and broken,, Three pieces of matsa , and taking the middle one, wrapping the matza cracker in white linen, and hiding it away, and a ransom being paid, and more parallels were not part of the instructions in Exodus, but they still point to the Messiah, and should not be discounted or ignored. The feasts are inseparably linked to the Messiah, and as Paul said - are 'shadows of things to come.' ;-) Hope this helps. Thanks again, for the insight, Silentknight. Keep it coming, bro. Here's one link showing the well-established historical practice of 2 days for Yom Teruah/ Feast of Trumpets. www.khouse.org/articles/1995/105/

Hello Hillary - Oops, so sorry. I made a mistake. ;-( It's a reminder to me that we all see through a glass dimly- and also Feast of Trumpets is a time of repentance - searching our heart, and making right the sin/wrong things. In the above post, I wrote incorrectly that the Trumpet is blown, sounded at Day of Atonement every year. After more searching, it was clear that this was incorrect. I'm sorry, Hillary and others. Please forgive me. It could turn out that someone has some other historical evidence for the theory/false teaching that Feast of Trumpets was delayed or moved. If that is the case, I will be very happy to see it. The passage cited by Melissa only states that on Jubilee years, a trumpet is sounded - No mention that the 'appointed time' " moadim" set by God was moved, changed or postponed. ;-) Maranatha.

Hello my dear watchmen family,
Just found out some more very exciting and very compelling information re FOT and it's connection to the rapture.
Several incredible things here.
One is this video by End-times scholar Nelson Walters, "The Feast of Trumpets"
- In the first half of the video, he proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Last Trumpet is NOT, the 7th trumpet in Revelation.
He gives multiple reasons for this, with scripture, and totally shatters this fallacious argument.
- Then, from about the 15:00 minute mark forward, he shows why the Last Trumpet is the Feast of Trumpets, specifically the 100th blast, - it even has a special name in Hebrew, Tekia ha Gadol.
- He also confirms the independent research of Pastor and well-known end-times speaker Perry Stone and Jewish scholar/author who state that this phrase "No One Knows the Day or the Hour" was a widely-known idiom to every Jewish person, and the audience of Paul in 1 Corinthians.
- Perry Stone also makes a very interesting point that Feast of Trumpets is the first of the 3 Fall Feasts. - The First four feasts are Spring feasts, and were all fulfilled in perfect order and perfect precision by Christ, in the Spring. *This is not Perry Stone's point here, but check this -- then there is a long gap. hmmmm.
- Then the first of the Fall Feasts, [***For those keeping track at home, the next one of all seven which has not yet been fulfilled] is Feast of Trumpets, - Yom Teruah in Hebrew and this signals the End of the Harvest. Just Wow. Mind -Blowing.
- One of the Themes for Feast of Trumpets is The Door of Heaven is Opened. The Ten Days from FOT to Day of Atonement- Yom Kippur is the Ten Days of Awe, when Jews examine their lives, make amends and repent of wrong.
It is precisely for this very reason that the Jews coined the phrase that is widely known in the world of stocks / Investing. "Sell on Rosh Hashanah [Feast of trumpets] and Buy back on Yom Kippur /Day of Atonement.
Now, compare this with Rev 4, when the Door of heaven is opened, - there is a Shout, and God says "Come up Here." Where??? To Heaven.
Revelation 4:1-2 English Standard Version (ESV)
The Throne in Heaven
4:1 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” 2 At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne.

So here are some fun questions for you... If Yom Teruah signals the end of the harvest, how would there be those who get saved during the Trib? Does it not make more sense that the end of the harvest would come after the last of the Trib saints was martyred? Thus, the last Trib saint matyred on or near Yom Teruah? Or is it possible that Yom Teruah occurs at the beginning of the millennium, since it is not just the wheat which will be harvested, but also the tares?
