As many had speculated, the 23rd and 24th have come and gone. To be candid, I am disappointed and strangely relieved! I do long for our Blessed Hope and "Homecoming". But was feeling like there was very much left undone.
We had a robbery/break-in at gunpoint in our neighbourhood last week. Our Grade 6 daughter remarked that she "doesn't feel like we belong here (earth) anymore." Does that ever sum it all up?!
I am a lifer-long believer. I was practically born in church and have heard many give their testimony and speak of "life verses" or passages of scripture that "hit them like a ton of bricks".
May I share this wonderful little sound byte that I "stumbled upon" while listening to the audio NIV on my phone a few years ago?
Get ready:
14 People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. 15 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.16 Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
Hebrews 11:14-16 (NIV)(BibleGateway)
This ain't over. Far from it.
It is the morning of September 26.
Some reminders:
We are one day closer to consummation.
There is a widely held belief that the generation that saw Israel restored as a nation would also be the people who would see "all these things" come to pass. This is a countdown timer that surely is in its very last days or hours. If a generation is 70 years than I would speculate that September 30 is an approximate "ground zero". (Give or take!)
Use this "bonus time" for straightening out your affairs, getting your house in order, preparing your will, connecting with old friends or colleagues, filling your lamp, preparing your "evacuation" letters and your "harpozo box".
At least one watcher has pointed out that Noah and his family were in the ark for seven days before the flood actually started. What is/are the principle(s) at play here?
Other voices are pointing out that a woman's time of "uncleanliness" after birth according to Levitical law is eight days.
All thoughts for consideration I suppose.
The King IS coming.
Count me in the "people who say such things" category!
Maranatha!!!
