Good morning to all my brothers and sisters in Christ! I was thinking today about all the joy we will have in at last seeing our Lord Jesus face to face--getting to talk with Him and ask Him a thousand questions and singing songs in His honor. What a wonderful time that will be!
We will also be reunited with our family members and friends who are with the Lord at the time of the resurrection--and I personally believe we'll also be reunited with our beloved pets that we've lost to the tragedies of this fallen, decaying world. I can hardly wait for that happy reunion, and there are so many other people I am looking forward to meeting, as well--heroes of the faith from the Bible, from history, even heroes of the faith from modern times who've greatly inspired and encouraged me but who I'm pretty sure I will not get an opportunity to meet until we all get to heaven.
For example, I want so much to see my grandfather and grandmother again, and my great-grandfather and great-grandmother again. My great-grandfather was quite the character. He once frightened my grandfather and my father when he got up on the roof while they were working on a roofing project and acted as if he were about to leap off, saying, "I feel so close to God, I think I could fly!"
I want to hold my big, furry baby, Charcoal, again and hear him purr. He was a beautiful, good cat buddy, and I can't imagine how beautiful he'll be in perfection.
I want to meet the prophet Daniel and Queen Esther and Joseph and the apostle John. I want to meet my heroes of the faith from history, Corrie Ten Boom and her family and Adrienne de La Fayette and her family (and please, Lord Jesus, may her husband be there, as well--how I would love to meet him).
May I ask who you are longing to meet or be reunited with in that glorious resurrection time?

Beautiful thoughts!
I long to see my Grandpop again. He died in 2002 and was a Believer. Wonderful man. I have a brother in jail who is now a Believer... I long to see him fully restored and blessed and to get to spend time with him again without the consequences of sin separating us.
Also, not exactly a "someone", but I long to see those in my family and friends who have chronic diseases and broken-heartedness fully restored. They've suffered so much and I long to see their faces on the Day of Joy!
I long to see three different great-grandparents that I was blessed to know, all of whom were Believers.
I long to be fully restored and reconciled to everyone there! Can't wait!
I also long to see my childhood Cocker Spaniel and Rottweiler. The Rottweiler was the most tenderhearted and obedient dog I've ever met.
I think God's goodness is more than we can presently understand or comprehend.

I agree, Gary, and I keep thinking of 1 Corinthians 2:9, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him."

Reunion!

I just look forward to sitting at Jesus's feet and hearing truth. Listening to what he was doing during the times I didn't understand. I long to have a love everywhere in my presence. I don't have bad parents, they just aren't loving. I only had one set of grandparents growing up and we weren't close. Also, my parents are still living and I just hope my Dad will accept Christ as his Savior before his death or the rapture. When I think of a reunion, I think of all the young folk that have been a part of our lives that have passed. I still remember their sweet faces. I can only imagine what the reunion will be between the family members and those who were young or old that were dearly loved. I'd be teary eyed and joy filled just watching 'their' reunions!

I also believe we will meet all the lost babies there, too. What an army of billions of children who died young! I have to wonder what it was like for them to wake up in the presence of Jesus with no recollection of what had happened--no life experience--born, as it were, in Heaven! And did they arrive there as "adult" souls, or did God have them to "grow up" in Heaven? Quite an amazing set of questions--anyone who has ever lost a child would love to know exactly how that works, but I do know that Jesus always had a particular soft spot for the little ones, and He surely has a vast and abundantly beautiful program in place for them.

I'd be teary eyed and joy filled just watching 'their' reunions! Yes! You know how when you're in the company of someone who is so happy about something it can make yourself happy too? I can imagine our own joy in heaven is going to be multiplied immeasurably just by seeing the joy of everyone else with us!

I also believe we will meet all the lost babies there, too. What an army of billions of children who died young! I wonder if we'll be given the privilege of adopting some of them, watchmanjim! My husband and I have never had the blessing of having a child of our own, so I sometimes wonder if perhaps the Lord will allow us to raise one of the children in heaven.

I believe that desire it will be met also, as if it had been quenched in fulfillment.
