Perhaps a country that "died" because it was was "killed" or wounded so bad (as in a war) as to lose its power but now has regained its position (healed)... Germany would fit via WW2, unless the US suffers something yet here, ie NK attack, and suffering the most from the loss of Believers in the Rapture?

Perhaps the US shortly after the eclipse or in some conflict with NK...I do believe that several interpret the "mortal wound" to be ascribed to a person and not an organization, country, religious group, etc.

Rev 13:3 "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." None of those on the list has more than one head, literally or figuratively
