Welcome aomega -- glad to have u join us!
Yes, there have been many books put out over the years -- showing the traditional site (temple mount with Dome) -- is not even close to the City of David, plus the mount does not contain any FRESH WATER -- which was must for the temple.
Unfortunately, tradition does not die easily .... so it is doubtful the true location --will become The Location anytime soon....
Ironically, the Islam Faith -- contents they have the the correct spot -- IF anyone were able to prove beyond an reasonable doubt about the City of David being the real Spot -- and Israel started on focusing their efforts there.... who wants to bet -- suddenly Islam will 'claim' the city of David as well......

It is not a confirmed thing that the City of David claim is correct. There are many people out there who still contend that the currently identified temple mound is indeed the real temple mound. Either way, the Jews believe that it is, and that is almost certainly where they will build the 3rd temple. Then again, I could be wrong.

Welcome aomega,
I have been looking into this for a little while now too. I think it is interesting (if I remember correctly) that the last part of Israel to be excavated was this area in the city of david, which they began excavating in august. If you are interested I have seen multiple documentaries on this including one by Bob Cornuke called Golgotha: searching for the true location of Christ's crucifixion. It's an interesting video, its two parts: one is about the 'real' location of the temple mount and the second part is about the 'real' location of the crucifixion.

I've never really thought that where they say the temple mount was, was the actual site but then that is just my opinion. Ultimately it won't matter because it won't be there for long.

Hey Rick, yeah I like his approach in all of his documentaries. Logic and the Word of God is all he uses to make his arguments, and really what else do you need? Especially looking at how prophecies are being fulfilled in every detail exactly as described in the Bible, makes me take the Bible more literally.

I have read Bob (Robert) Cornuke's book Temple a few months ago and found it to be rather interesting. However there are several issues with his theory. If you want to do a deeper study for yourself here is an interesting link. This site discusses several theories on the location of Solomon's and Herod's temple. templemountlocation.com/bobCornukeTheoryDisputed.htmlI have asked locals in Jerusalem earlier this year, virtually all are deeply convinced, the well known temple mount is the true location of the temple. Maybe the long expected and overdue earthquake will reveal the truth?

Hi Rick - thanks for the referral. I watched the video and it is very interesting - especially about the earthquake and the graves opening - something I've personally never heard anyone on teach on before. As for the excavation of the City of David - they keep finding things that in my mind make it obvious the temple was there! lol.

You read and watch so many different theories and ideas, and most have lots of valid arguments. Makes your brain hurt. Like you said hopefully soon God will reveal some more truth to help us connect more dots.

Not even knowledge but........maybe the sheer number of theories...? 😉
