Natalie,
Good stuff to chew on. Thank you. I was aware of a few but you added others I had not read. I may look them up to see what others issues they addressed.
As far as Paul’s audience is concerned, I’d assume they would know what he meant as he frequently spoke to them.
Like Heb 9:8 or that Christ takes away the first to establish the second in the law. I’m trying to understand why it would be literal if Christ brought something better and made the old desolate.
Let me think about your words tonight. I do my best at night.

D4L, I cannot have a conversation with you on this subject because you’re not open to it. You see one way and only one way. I will continue to look for truth. BTW, we don’t need a degree in divinity to understand God’s word. I happily will discuss with @natalie, mike and others even if they disagree with me as long as they are open to discussion Brother, I am very much open to other possibilities and I'm trying to understand your position. I try to answer questions as best I can I didn't ever say anyone needs a divinity degree to understand God's word- I sure don't have a divinity degree. Three of us have asked you very straightforward questions to try to understand how you come to this conclusion. We discuss back and forth and ask for clarification. You haven't answered and that's OK. But that sure doesn't seem to indicate you're open.

Maybe because the Jews are still blinded to the truth that Christ brought something better.
My other question that I have asked a couple of time is how do you know Paul didn't mean it literally? What clues do you see in 2 Thes that would say "oh yeah, Paul didn't mean a literal temple."
So, here's some things I have been thinking -- The Temple was still standing when Paul wrote 2 Thes. The Holy Spirit inspired his words. Did Paul think it could happen in his time? I've heard that some commentators believed that Paul thought he'd see the return of Christ. Paul is telling his audience that the antichrist would be revealed and sit in the temple before Jesus returned - referring to the Temple that currently sat in Jerusalem. I'm sure Paul also knew Christ's words about the abomination and that the temple would be destroyed. But Paul didn't know that the temple would be destroyed soon without it being the return of Christ. (Although from what I found, he probably died before the destruction of Jerusalem) So, if it wasn't the Temple at Paul's time then there would be a rebuilt one before the Second Coming. That's how I see it.
I know the temple isn't needed, but the Jews don't. They will eventually, hallelujah!

I let a little time go by because I wanted to soul search and recall what I wrote that got some of the replies. Well, here ya go. I had seen some of this early in the week, but I still needed time. The essence of this is what I am trying to explain. If this form of Christianity produces faithful, annointed with the Holy Spirit, trith-knowing followers... Then I am miseld.. I will not be accused of something I am NOT! the TRUTH? ALL are created equal and NOT to be ACCUSED of anything other... and ALL have fallen short... (my bold for emphasis) than what do you do with this: www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/09/05/jesuit-led-parish-asks-parishioners-to-take-pledge-affirming-white-privilege-must-end/Is this the church body? are there their in this church body, a) looking for HIs return, yet also, b) being taught the truth of the gospel? I am not the judge, but I do know what Jesus did on the cross.... and if you think this work from the Accuser has not infiltrated the Protestants? I will find my links.... reminder: He gives us New Names, individually, not corporately. Not via denominations. Each stone is His building block of His Temple, aka, Overcomers builds this Temple, in His Kingdom... and it includes a variety of the body, be it the structure, or the priesthood. Be it the Inner or outer court, be it the entire Kingdom of the Stone... which, will be the everlasting one... When He returns will He find any Faith to reign over such a Kingdom?

barbiosheepgirl , I agree with you that true believers are the Temple. I also agree with you that there is a lot out there called "Christianity" that is very far from Christ. A lot. But Christianity is not the Temple. The Accuser may have infiltrated the Church, but he cannot infiltrate those who are the Temple of God. Wheat and tares, sheep and goats, whatever you want as a comparison...the Church has both, but only wheat and sheep are the Temple of God. Washed and sanctified individuals are each a temple of God. (I posted Paul's other verses earlier in the thread that support this) Are there true believers sitting in churches that are far from Christ? Yes. They are still the temple of God; wheat among tares. My point was - Paul says the man of lawlessness sits in the Temple of God. So, either Paul is saying that the man of lawlessness is sitting in each true believer or he means a physical building. Paul would not use the term Temple of God for the apostate church. Or maybe I still don't understand the point you are trying to make.

Be it the Inner or outer court, be it the entire Kingdom of the Stone... which, will be the everlasting one... When He returns will He find any Faith to reign over such a Kingdom? Hi barbiosheepgirl, I watched the link that you posted and I would never sign-on to such a pledge because I am bound to the Savior. That is, let those who sign to these church leaders take their pledge. For me, the Savior alone has my allegiance and there is no one between he and I. I do not care how guilty someone tries to make me feel, how politically correct, how out of line; it does not matter. All my sacred oaths of obedience are to him and him alone. The gospel message is that we have salvation through Christ. Secondly, although some do try to interject themselves into that highly personal relationship; following them does not enhance salvation. Thus, no church organization has a claim upon the Savior. The claim is via the individual relationship between the sinner and the Christ. As a result no one knows another persons claim because the sins are uniquely personal and the salvation is uniquely personal. In conclusion, it is wrong for church leaders to ask oaths of their attendees; and if they do, then they are going beyond that which is required for salvation: a personal relationship with Christ. Another thing, Christ knows the pure in heart and these are you and I as well as many others on this site as well as many other not on this site. We are to be called out and there is nothing any church leader can do, for, or against this fact. Christ upon the cross is the plan of salvation: 1) Interceded to provide a pure and perfect payment to God for the judgment of death upon mankind. 2) As a result of this purchase, Jesus became the legal owner of mankind's debt. 3) Jesus pledges as the legal owner of our debt, that he will freely grant eternal life to all who repent. This is salvation from our sins. Thus, we are saved via the blood of Jesus (Rev. 1:5).

The location of the temple debate is very interesting..... To me the biggest factor which suggests the Temple was located just above Gihon Springs within the City of David -- is one of those key factors that no one who holds to the traditional Temple Mount site can answer. The amount of water needed to clean everything points to the need to a fresh source of water and the Springs is the ONLY source in the area. The question then becomes -- WHAT IF -- the third temple is built on a site which NEVER contained the first two temples -- would that somehow invalidate the third temple? Wouldnt any temple built on the exact true OT location or a false location (presumed to be true) still be a temple that is not God's temple? Since worship, sacrifice and others means do not require a temple and that a temple takes us back before Christ, doesnt it return those who seek it (regardless of where it is built) to remain under bondage?

Thanks mike. Good video on what may be coming. Please watch before considering what I've posted. So, after watching I have some questions for everyone, but first some dates to consider. As most know the Revelation 12 Sign seemed to be an important marker in the end times timeline. If you are unsure of what that was or need a reminder - go here. www.unsealed.org/p/the-sign.htmlMarch 6th, 2021 is the Shabbat of the Red Heifer on the Hebrew calendar. A day count of 1260 from 9/23/17 lands on that exact date. Shabbat Parah ("Sabbath [of the] red heifer") takes place on the Shabbat before Shabbat HaChodesh, in preparation for Passover. Numbers 19:1-22 describes the parah adumah ("red heifer") in the Jewish temple as part of the manner in which the kohanim and the Jewish people purified themselves so that they would be ready ("pure") to sacrifice the korban Pesach. Question 1: Is it possible March 6th (Shabbat of the Red Heifer) could be the date that one or all of the three red heifers that are being raised are finally considered pure (kosher) for sacrifice by the Sanhedrin? What would you think if the Jewish people start to purify themselves on that date? April 5th, 2021 is the day after the Passover of 2021 starting on the evening of Saturday, March 27th and ending on the evening of April 4th. A day count of 1290 from 9/23/17 lands on that exact date. Question 2: If there is indeed a sacrifice that takes place during Passover, would you consider the possibility that we would be in the 70th week or at the start of it at that point? Why or Why not? I want to be open and respectful to everyone's opinions as should we all. Thanks.

Hope you can listen to this video from Nelson Walters and Fisher Man.
If you have questions like me about the necessity of a third temple, what the abomination of desolation "looks like" or why a piece of dirt no bigger than Jersey is central to everything - listen to the following information and see if it helps you fill in some possibilites of how things could unfold.

Thanks, bernie , great stuff. Also, sog , really good question, "Question 2: If there is indeed a sacrifice that takes place during Passover, would you consider the possibility that we would be in the 70th week or at the start of it at that point? Why or Why not?" Yes, it would be a huge deal. To me it would not signal the start of the 70th week, but would be a ginormous sign, which would make me and a lot of others triple down on the Rapture this Fall. There is a Prophecy that Elijah comes before the Messiah. This is also a dual fulfillment because Malachi wrote that Elijah would come before the Day of the Lord [Jews understand this to be the Tribulation]. Malachi 4:5 Literal Standard Version "Behold, I am sending Elijah the prophet to you, Before the coming of the great and fearful Day of YHWH." This is why Jews always leave an empty place for Elijah at Passover, and scripture says that John the Baptist was a type/ picture of Elijah. **It's important to note that John the Baptist came 6 months before Christ, and Passover is six months before Feast of Trumpets. I posted in another thread "Pascal Sacrifice", but the Sacrifice at Passover is a much bigger deal than the temple, 1 For Jews, because it means they can start the daily sacrifices - they can do this without a temple. 2. For us as Christians because it's like seeing the Christmas stuff being put out in October, before Halloween and Thanksgiving, - you know its just around the corner.
